This upcoming Labor Day, spare a thought for the workforce that never makes the Labor Day lists.

Direct Support Professionals do some of the most essential work in the country, showing up shift after shift with not nearly enough recognition.

Turnover in the field runs around 45%, driven in part by low pay and hours of paperwork that eat the time meant for care.
