I was at one of the big craft shows I participate in last Saturday. I had the best day! I spent time with one of my favorite ladies, my friend Donna Irish and caught up with another Sabrina Washburn Little. I also met and talked with many many many fun, kind , a few rude 🤦‍♀️😆 but mostly great people. I have a couple of signs at my booth that help engage people. One says "please buy my crafts, my kids said I am not cut out for only fans" (my kids are mean to me 😂) and the other is "Ask me about Reiki". Both create interesting and fun conversations. I love to demonstrate Reiki to people and see/feel their reactions. I remember my first time receiving Reiki. I didn't believe in it due to a weird previous experience and then this lovely practitioner Dany Eaton Barrett told me I needed some. I mentally rolled my eyes and said sure. When she started and I felt it...........it blew my mind and I was hooked! That was over 11 years ago. I became a practitioner as well and have absolutely loved every minute since. Reiki is a hard thing to explain to people, some things need an actual physical demonstration. Sooooooo I have decided to do a free 15 minute Reiki session day!!! Recently I have been making essential oil blends, salves, crystal herb blends for various healing items. I asked my 3 year old grandson (whom calls me Mom Mom) to help grind ingredients. He was excited to help. The following "grandson-ism" convo followed.

Me- Want to help me grind this up?
Grandson- Yes Mom Mom! What is it for?
Me- Well for healing stuff honey.
Grandson - For what?
Me- (using words he understands better) for potions honey.
Grandson- Oh really?!?! Can you make me a potion to grow real webs in my fingers? (Vigorously showing me where he wants it).
Me - Oh honey. I can't do that kind d.
He soon - Yes you can!

He continues to ask for his web potion every time he sees me working on things. 😂🤦‍♀️ I wish I did have some more exciting abilities to make super cool potions. But alas I do not. lol

Cold and dreary days are fast approaching. I love them and of course get tired of them. But a good bowl of soup, a couch and fuzzy blanket and book just fit for this type of day.

However I spent mine cleaning and organizing my SheShed, where I create a lot of my crafts, kits, tinctures and things I teach others to make . (Don't forget the Besom Broom Class is October 10th!)

Besides getting things all cleaned up and organized I was able to make some stock for the store and upcoming craft fairs I will be at. I also did some movements that are causing sore muscles! lol So thankfully I know to stretch, use some Reiki on myself and some great muscle rub. Oh yeah I make that too! 😉 (I am shameless, I know!)

Lately I have been very focused on looking at recipes for any kind of herbal remedies. I love holistic health "stuff". As my kitchen table was covered last week with drying mullein leaves and empty glass jars my kids said "oh great we are crunchy now". 😂 I wish I could embrace the full spectrum of "crunchy-ness" but alas I just don't have time to fully do that. However making natural based salves, muscle rubs, teas, cough syrup and canning things from our garden make me feel more centered. Growing up my parents did canning and natural remedies because we were very poor. But now I see the better benefits. I also am a believer in science and medicine. It's needs a good balance. Especially since I had emergency gallbladder surgery this past weekend. It was an adventure for sure! So using my meds, some natural teas, icing, heat etc to help heal up.

So i am not taking any more apts until 9/1. So I can heal up. At that time come and see me to add to your health tool box! Reiki is so beneficial in so many ways. Summer is winding down. The stores are stocking all the decor for the "ber" months. This week is a "vacation " week for me. It involves copious dr apts, painting our mudroom, adding shelves to our pantry and continuing our summer chore to do list. 🤦‍♀️ So I am remembering to take the time to relax in the next couple weeks as the back to school life is coming. So a book, some crafting, a beach, the fair and some movie nights in my future to do list. What's on yours? How are you relaxing this summer? What about some self care? What is taking your time and energy right now? At our house it's a chicken palace ( a large coop)! I started building it mostly on my own (the family helped get the base leveled and built )using the skills my dad taught me as a kid and what I have learned since then. She's not perfect but it's going to be amazing. We are almost done thanks to some extra help from A friend. Sigh I just can't lift the heavy stuff like I used too. I guess I am not 20 anymore. 🤷‍♀️
While it's great it has also been stressful trying to finish it around work, the weather and other obligations. So fun but stressful. Sometimes life is like that and you need a moment to recenter so the fun is fun again! Reiki is a great help to that. (it's also great on those sore muscles you made thinking your 20 still!) When I scan clients during sessions we talk a lot about centering, grounding, finding joy in life. Let me help you recenter for a better summer!
