Friends of Autistic People (FAP) is a volunteer-based non-profit advocacy and autism education organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults with autism. We ADVOCATE for supports, services and mandated services for children and adults with autism, and work to EDUCATE their families and the public. We raise awareness of the needs of children as they mature
into adults, tendi

ng to their unique educational, transitioning, vocational, residential and wellness needs. FAP's expanded mission has two aspects: immediate goal and long-range goal: The first is to provide Music Based Autism and Gardening Therapy services to children and adults with autism from financially-challenged families. Our ultimate goal is to develop an innovative living option - an independent Homestead Community horticulture based and embedded in the community where adults with autism choose to live, learn skills, work and thrive. Donations are what helps us accomplish our goals, and continue our mission to support adults and children with autism. Donations can be submitted online through our website:

“That’s funny!😄” she’d say if she could.
My daughter Vanessa is raising awareness for Profound nonverbal Autism - there are about 2,700 like her in CT.
Yet the 3rd richest state of the US does not provide appropriate supports for those who live in group homes as well as those who still live at home. Some very aggressive moms are apparently able to get for their kiddos what they need. Most of us moms are more polite (timid?) and expect the DDS to provide the supports the management promises to persuade us to move them in. At least that’s how it used to be until
recently.

County Appliances is refusing to send us - senior citizens - a technician to show us how the new newfangled TV works.
My 91 y/o husband bought this new TV end of 2025 Now County Appliances, Stamford , CT, refuse to send someone to show us how to use it. The TV is stuck on one low intelligence program (see picture).
There are so many (unnecessary) options but not a simple channel selector.

What to do? How can we get County Appl.to come show us how to enjoy the use of this new TV?
