Attn Denver providers! We’d like to invite you to join us for a special clinic open house on Sept 15th. This will be a casual drop-in event where you will stop by interactive stations set up throughout our office to learn more about all that we specialize in (including head shape, body work, milestones, infant feeding and more!). Give me an AMEN in the comments if you agree! Now I’m not saying wound care isn’t important (plz follow your providers protocol!) BUT as an infant therapy practice that specializes in babies with oral ties we’ve seen hundreds of cases and I promise - you can do the most perfect wound care, but if your baby doesn’t MOVE their tongue in between those stretches? You won’t be getting optimal healing. That’s why the prep work is so important - to make sure babies don’t have any other barriers to movement. Use or lose it with that new range of motion!

Please still follow your provider’s wound care protocols. But before you commit to that procedure, make sure you and your baby are ready for the *movement* part of the rehab process! In our practice we focus on the ensuring that we have helped remove any barriers to movement before the procedure: releasing body tension, activating reflexes, making sure baby can nasal breathe, addressing any GI dysfunction, parent coaching, nervous system regulation and more! There’s more to the decision of releasing or not than just the presence of a tight frenulum.
