π¨ Colorado Behavioral Health Providers: Has Your Practice Transitioned to Provider Type 77?
The August 1, 2026 implementation date has passed, and Colorado behavioral health group practices should ensure they are enrolled under the correct Colorado Medicaid provider type.
If your practice primarily provides behavioral health services and was previously enrolled as:
Provider Type 16 β Clinic Practitioner, or
Provider Type 25 β Non-Physician Practitioner Group
your organization may need to be enrolled as Provider Type 77 β Behavioral Health Group for certain behavioral health supportive and team-based services.
Failing to maintain the appropriate provider type could affect claims processing for applicable Medicaid services.
Not sure if your practice is compliant?
