MS Selected for CCBHC Demonstration – Life Help Named Pilot Site

Life Help is proud to announce that Mississippi has been selected as one of 10 states to participate in the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Medicaid Demonstration Program through a collaborative effort of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). As part of this exciting opportunity, Life Help has been designated as one of two pilot sites.

CCBHC is widely recognized as the national gold standard for community based mental health care. It is designed on the core value that all people deserve access to effective mental health and substance use treatment. We are excited about what this designation means for the future of behavioral healthcare in the Mississippi Delta and surrounding area and look forward to working with the MS Department of Mental Health and the MS Division of Medicaid.

We hope the many mental health helpers who care about you, your families, and your communities found you at just the right moment in month of May to answer questions about mental healthcare and substance use treatment, to assist you or a loved one in accessing support and care, and to share resources relevant to those entrusted to your care.

While Mental Health Awareness Month ends today, our mission to serve the people living in Attala, Bolivar, Carroll, Coahoma, Grenada, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Leflore, Montgomery, Quitman, Sharkey, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tunica, and Washington Counties never ends. We work 24/7 to provide you with the best care, and we are committed to ensuring the communities we know and love are safer and healthier, developing goals and habits for more good days ahead.

If you see a Life Help staff member, ask a question about mental healthcare, substance use treatment, and how we can help you at Life Help CMHC. Any of us will be happy to help, and if we do not know the answer to your question, we’ll find it!

You can also call or come into the office located in your hometown or county. The contact information is pinned at the top of our page. Our 24/7 Emergency Hotline is 1-866-453-6216.

Please scroll through our page for programs happening in communities throughout our region for children and families this summer and continue to watch for updates all summer long. If you have a family-friendly program that is free or low-cost in our 16-county area, please tag us for our summer-long series!
