HappiCare Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care, 213 W Park Avenue, Greenwood, MS (2026)

Child’s insurance (Medicaid, magnolia, UHC, and private insurance) pays for services. Our PPEC center is planned around the needs of medically fragile children from birth to 19 years of age. Our fun, caring environment offers:
• Rehabilitative, nursing, social services, and daycare services, as well as comprehensive evaluation and treatment plans for childhood development
• A trained professional

staff of registered and licensed practical nurses, medical technicians, nurse assistants and certified transporters
• Peace of mind knowing all HappiCare employees are cleared through a certified background check
• Staff members trained and certified in basic and pediatric advanced life support
• Transportation services within a 50-mile radius

💧 Pediatric Health Tip: Know the Signs of Dehydration! 💧

Did you know that children can become dehydrated more quickly than adults? This can happen with fever, vomiting, diarrhea, poor feeding, increased respiratory effort, or simply not taking in enough fluids.

For children with complex medical needs, staying hydrated can be especially important. ❤️

🚩 Signs to watch for include:
• Fewer wet diapers or trips to the bathroom
• Dry mouth or lips
• Few or no tears when crying
• Darker-than-usual urine
• Unusual sleepiness, weakness, or irritability
• Sunken-looking eyes
• In infants, a noticeably sunken soft spot

💡 A helpful tip: Keep track of your child’s usual fluid intake and urine output so you can recognize changes early. If your child has a feeding tube or a prescribed fluid/feeding plan, follow the plan provided by their healthcare team.

⚠️ If your child is unable to keep fluids down, has significantly decreased urine output, is difficult to wake, has trouble breathing, or you are concerned about their condition, contact their healthcare provider promptly or seek emergency care when appropriate.

We celebrate and thank Nurse Te'Ayra for her dedication, compassion, and outstanding service as a nurse at Happicare PPEC. Her commitment to caring for children and supporting families has made a lasting impact on everyone who has had the privilege of working with her.

While we’re sad to see her step away from her full-time role, we’re excited that she’ll continue to be part of our team as a PRN nurse. We know her caring heart, clinical expertise, and friendly smile will continue to make a difference whenever she’s with us.
