I’m so excited to finally share this! Postpartum Power Hour is officially happening — a space for expecting + new moms to feel supported, seen, and prepared. Let’s build this community together 💛

There are moments in session where:

culture is present but not named
identity is shaping the interaction
something feels “off,” but you can’t fully articulate why

And in that moment, you are:

aware
attuned
but still deciding how to respond

This is where many clinicians pause internally and think:

“Am I navigating this in a way that is truly aligned?”

This isn’t about not knowing.

It’s about needing a deeper level of integration.

At Points of Origin Counseling, this is the level of clinical development we support.

Save this if you’ve experienced this in session.

Motherhood is strength, softness, sacrifice, and magic all at once. Honoring every mama showing up with love in the ways only she can. Happy Mother’s Day!

I’m currently supporting an Asian family, and I’ve loved learning more about their culture. The husband recently introduced me to a mushroom commonly used in China called black fungus—it’s packed with benefits like supporting gut health, boosting immunity, and improving circulation. So fascinating.
After that, he asked a few questions about the baby, and I was able to teach and show him some things. Moments like that remind me how much I truly love what I do.

My kids made sure I couldn’t stay for the ribbon cutting, but I’m really glad I was able to swing by and show support. This new space is beautiful, and I’m excited for all the new things happening at Mobility Matters 🌻

Today is my birthday, and after pouring into a beautiful family in Atlanta, I’m reminding myself that I deserve to be poured into too.
In this work, I’m constantly giving, holding space, and showing up with my whole heart. If you feel led to pour back into my cup — to support my self‑care, rest, or whatever nourishment looks like for me — you’re welcome to do so.

I always ask my parents for feedback on our time together because their experience matters deeply to me.

This week, a twin mama shared that getting real sleep completely shifted her temperament. She felt calmer, more patient, and more capable of handling the ups and downs of newborn life.

That’s the power of rest.
Postpartum isn’t meant to be survived on fumes. When parents are supported, they show up as the version of themselves they want to be.

A room full of birth and postpartum doulas committed to changing outcomes and changing the narrative.
This is what it looks like when we choose to reduce maternal mortality rates — intentionally and collectively.

S/O to Rashana leading the Black Doula Grant program (Prisma Health) & moving outcomes forward.

I’m sooooo grateful for my training with Stormi The Set Apart Doula Collective. I’m often asked where to start as a doula, and this was my foundation 🌻

Let’s bust a few new‑parent myths:

❌ “Breastfeeding moms can’t get rest.”
✔️ Most nursing sessions are 15–20 minutes — you nurse, I handle the rest.

❌ “New moms have to do everything on their own.”
✔️ In many cultures, day and night support is normal. Community care is the standard — not the exception.

❌ “Parents should bounce back quickly.”
✔️ Only in America is postpartum support minimized and parents pushed back to work so soon. Rest and recovery are essential, not optional.

❌ “Night support is only for wealthy families.”
✔️ It’s for exhausted families who need help, healing, and rest.

Share this with a new or expecting parent who needs to hear it.
