Eclectic Herb ๐ŸŒฟ Pioneers in Fresh Freeze-Dried Herbs

Since 1982, we've been dedicated to harnessing the power of nature.

Our herbs are locally grown, sustainably harvested, and freeze-dried fresh in-house to lock in the full spectrum of natural benefits. For 40 years, Eclectic Institute has delivered the highest quality dietary supplements on the market. We have a full line of 100% fresh freeze-dried herbs and whole food powders, as well as herbal extracts, vitamins, creams, oils & a children's line. PIONEER OF THE

INDUSTRY:
Eclectic was the first in the herb industry to use freeze-drying technology. By freeze-drying fresh, whole herbs (rather than air or heat drying) Eclectic produces supplements that retain the fresh plants' biologically active constituents and natural potency. Eclectic is now freeze-drying fresh, raw, whole fruit, herbs, and vegetables to provide food powders that can be simply mixed with juice, added to smoothies, or sprinkled on food to boost nutritional intake. Eclectic's POWders provide Plant Originated Wellness in a tasty, economical and convenient form. Eclectic was also the first to use ORGANIC alcohol for its herbal extracts in order to provide the best quality extracts. And again, Eclectic was the first to produce alcohol-free extracts that especially appeal to children and those with adverse reactions to alcohol. Eclectic was the first to introduce Fresh Upgrade - a product line of herbs that are assayed for a range of bioactive compounds and include fresh freeze-dried, whole herbs. Fresh Upgrade is superior to standardized extracts because it contains the herbs' active cofactors that are left behind by solvent and CO2 extraction and traditional drying methods.

Twenty years of a frozen shoulder that nobody could fix, and Dr. Cole put three needles in the opposite ankle and sent it over the patient's head for the first time.

This is the kind of moment that makes you rethink everything you thought you knew about the body and how healing actually works. Dr. Cole Magnabua has been producing results like this for nearly 30 years with a distal acupuncture approach rooted in an ancient family lineage that most modern practitioners have never even heard of, and in our latest podcast episode he breaks down exactly how and why it works.

One of the highlights from this weekend's gathering was time spent together in the private Eclectic Herb Library. ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒฟ

Surrounded by generations of herbal knowledge, we pondered the fascinating history of western herbalism, shared ideas, asked questions, and enjoyed some really wonderful conversations with fellow herbalists and naturopaths.

There is something special about gathering with people who are passionate about plants, healing, and helping others. The curiosity, wisdom, and generosity in that room made for a truly memorable experience.

Beyond the books themselves, it was the connections, conversations, and shared love of herbal medicine that made our time together so valuable.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this gathering such a wonderful success.

Thank you for being part of it. Until next time. ๐Ÿ’š

Sometimes the plants you need most are the same ones you try to avoid. ๐ŸŒฟ

A perfect example is stinging nettle. Yes, most people fear this plant because of its stinging ways, but itโ€™s also one of the most supportive herbs for allergies.

If youโ€™re dealing with sneezing, a runny nose, watery eyes, or that tight wheezy feeling, nettles may be just what you need. Theyโ€™re phenomenal for supporting your body through seasonal changes.

Nettles are also one of the most nutrient-dense plants in the world. Packed with vitamins and minerals that nourish your body on a deep level.
A daily cup of nettle tea is a beautiful way to build a nourishing ritual into your life.

And when it comes to allergy season, freshly freeze dried nettles bring the maximum support for histamine balance.

When we freeze dry the nettles right after theyโ€™re harvested at the peak of their potency, weโ€™re able to retain the goodness they have to provide us. It keeps the plant in its most vibrant state, and it will do the same for you!

๐ŸŒฟ Ta**us season is all about slowing down, getting grounded, and enjoying the simple things in life โ™‰๏ธโœจ
As an Earth sign ruled by Venus, Ta**us reminds us to rest, reconnect with ourselves, and create little moments of comfort and beauty each day. These herbs pair perfectly with Ta**usโ€™ calm, loyal, and nurturing energy.

๐ŸŒผ Dandelion: A gentle herb that supports detoxification and helps you let go of whatโ€™s weighing you down while staying grounded and balanced.

๐ŸŒน Rose: Soft, comforting, and heart-opening, Rose brings a sense of calm and emotional warmth while helping you reconnect with love and beauty.

๐ŸŒพ Milky Oats: Known for nourishing the nervous system, Milky Oats can be especially supportive during stressful or exhausting times when you need extra grounding.

โค๏ธ Hawthorn: A classic heart-supporting herb that encourages emotional strength, resilience, and gentle care for both the heart and body.

โœจ Ta**us teaches us that healing doesnโ€™t have to be rushed. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is slow down, breathe deeply, and care for ourselves gently.

Have you heard of Lomatium? ๐ŸŒฟ

Itโ€™s an incredible plant with a rich history in herbal traditions through many generations.
Back in 1987, our founder Dr. Ed Alstat published an article sharing the traditional uses, chemistry, and history of Lomatium dissectum.

His interest in Lomatium began while studying under the legendary Dr. John Bastyr. What started as curiosity eventually became years of research into the plant, its preparation methods, and the stories surrounding its use in herbal practice.

Swipe through the images above to have a peek at some essential herbal history, including Dr. Alstatโ€™s original 1987 article.

Preserving this knowledge for future generations is at the heart of everything we do.
