Hey y'all....so I had this client yesterday. Nervous system shot. In their defense, they are currently going through a lot being a caretaker of their ailing spouse. Mid-massage, I had to implement a breathing exercise with them because they could not relax. Imagine laying down, but your extremities are raised up off of the surface because your nervous system won't allow you to be in a resting state. I gently explained to them that this was their time to be selfish. They didn't have to lift a finger, and to think of themselves like a boiled noodle. It was rough at 1st, but things got a little better towards the end. They started having tummy rumbles and passing gas (this is a good sign of releasing). After our session was over, we both agreed that they needed more of this. We gave the tightest, long hug and they went on their way. A few minutes later, I returned to the room to start cleaning...They had done already removed the used sheets, and place them in the corner of the floor with the soiled towels. They picked up the foot mat, and neatly folded it on the corner of the massage table. I was livid, but I just took a deep breath, laughed it off, and thought.... It's gonna take some time, but we've gotta get them to rest their mind. Some people don't know how to turn off, or know when it's time to take interest in themselves. I wanted to call and lecture them so bad (it's the mom in me), but I decided against it. I wanted them to hold on to whatever relief they did receive, for as long as possible. However, next time before the service begins, I will tell them that tidying the room after their massage is against company policy. 🤦🏽♀️💞🤗
