A 16-year-old air compressor was running normally..... At least, that's what everyone thought.
During a routine maintenance visit, a check valve failed while our technician was on site. Because it happened during the appointment, we were able to remove the broken pieces before they caused additional damage or left the compressor unable to build pressure.
We also discovered that one of the compressor heads wasn't operating.
Neither issue had stopped production yet. But both had the potential to become much larger problems if left unnoticed.
This is why preventive maintenance matters.
Not because every visit uncovers a problem, but because when problems do exist, they're often easier to address before they become emergencies.
Sometimes the biggest value of a service visit is what never ends up happening.
