Today we treated our amazing team to a little something sweet! Staff got to build their own banana splits with all the toppings — hot fudge, cherries, marshmallows, Reese’s pieces, Oreos, chocolate chips, nuts and more! 😋

There were definitely some creative masterpieces made! 😂❤️

Please join us in welcoming Nicole Adams, our new Admissions & Marketing Director at Monterey - An Optalis Health & Rehabilitation Center

Nicole brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, with a strong background in admissions, marketing, customer service, and senior care. Throughout her career, she has developed a passion for helping seniors and their families navigate healthcare decisions with compassion, understanding, and respect.

In her new role, Nicole looks forward to building relationships within the Grove City community, supporting families through the admissions process, and sharing all that Monterey Care Center has to offer.

“I believe families deserve someone who will listen, educate, and help make the transition into care feel a little less overwhelming. I’m excited to become part of the Monterey Care Center family and serve the Grove City community.”

🎉 A SUCCESS STORY 10 MONTHS IN THE MAKING! 🎉

In September 2025, L. Barnett’s life changed unexpectedly when an infection in his foot led to hospitalization and, ultimately, a leg amputation in November. Following his hospitalization, he came to Monterey Care Center for skilled rehabilitation—and what started as a rehab stay became a 10-month journey of strength, determination, and perseverance. 💙

Through months of dedicated physical and occupational therapy, exceptional nursing care, and his own determination, L. Barnett reached the goal everyone had been working toward:

Today, we proudly celebrate as L. Barnett leaves Monterey Care Center to return home with his brother and be surrounded by the family he is so close to.

🔥🍫 Happy National S’mores Day! 🍫🔥

Today, our staff enjoyed a deliciously sweet S’mores Bar as a special treat! Graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallows, and plenty of smiles made for the perfect celebration. 😋

And of course, we had to add a little friendly competition! 😂 Some of our managers went head-to-head to see who could fit the most marshmallows in their mouth! Let’s just say… things got a little sticky! 🤣☁️

It was a wonderful evening bringing together community members, first responders, and local organizations for family-friendly fun, valuable resources, and meaningful connections.
