📍 Help Is Closer Than You Think

If you or someone you love is struggling with substance use, you don’t have to figure out the next step alone.

💜 Words Matter. Compassion Matters.

Substance use disorder is not a moral failing.

The person struggling with addiction is still someone’s child, parent, sibling, partner, friend, coworker or neighbor.

Shame and stigma can make asking for help even harder. Compassion can help open the door.

Instead of:
“Why don’t you just stop?”

Try:
“I care about you.”
“You don’t have to do this alone.”
“How can I help you find support?”

We can hold boundaries while still treating people with dignity.

Sometimes the first step toward recovery is simply knowing someone believes you’re worth helping. 💜

We are so honored to partner with a local photographer who is offering these beautiful services to loss mamas in our area 💜💜💜

The Remembered Sessions are officially open.

If you’ve experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss, we would be honored to give you a space to remember and honor your baby. Sessions are pay what you can—including $0 (message Makayla if you need the $0 option).

And we need our community. We’re looking for local businesses, organizations, and individuals who would like to become community partners and help us make this day extra special with small gifts and meaningful touches to honor every mama who walks through our doors.

Today, I’m asking you to do one of three things: book a session, become a community partner, or share this so it reaches a mama or business who needs to see it.

October 3 we’re remembering our sweet heavenly babies and reminding every mama that: Your baby was here. Your baby is loved. Your baby is remembered.🤍

💜 Knowing the Signs Could Save a Life

An overdose can happen to someone you know, someone you love, or someone you never expected.

Signs of an opioid overdose may include:
• Unresponsiveness or inability to wake
• Slow, shallow, irregular, or stopped breathing
• Pinpoint pupils
• Pale, gray, or bluish skin, lips, or fingernails
• Choking, gurgling, or unusual snoring sounds

If you suspect an overdose, treat it like the emergency it is. Call 911 and administer naloxone (Narcan) if available.

You don’t have to know someone’s story to save their life.

A life saved today is a chance for recovery tomorrow. 💜

💜International Overdose Awareness Day

Today, we remember the lives lost to overdose, hold space for the families and friends who carry that loss, and stand beside those who are struggling or walking the road of recovery.

Addiction does not define a person.
Recovery is possible.
Compassion matters.
And asking for help should never be a source of shame.

This week, we’ll be sharing information about overdose prevention, recognizing the signs of an overdose, supporting someone struggling with substance use, and resources available right here in our community.

Behind every statistic is a person. A family. A story. 💜

As National Safe at Home Week comes to an end, here’s your reminder:

A peaceful home and a perfect home are not the same thing. 🤍

There can be laundry on the couch, dishes in the sink, siblings arguing, someone having a bad day, and a parent who occasionally loses their patience.

What matters is what happens next.

We apologize.
We repair.
We listen.
We respect boundaries.
We make room for feelings.
We remind one another, “Even when things are hard, we’re still on the same team.”

Emotional safety isn’t created by never getting it wrong.

It’s created when the people in our homes know it’s safe to come back together after we do. 🌿

From all of us at The Nest Therapy Group, we hope your home can be your soft place to land. 🤍

Sometimes we become so accustomed to stress that we stop realizing we’re stressed.

But our bodies often notice before we do.

Difficulty relaxing. Always anticipating someone’s reaction. Feeling responsible for keeping everyone happy. Becoming anxious when you hear a particular tone of voice. Feeling guilty for setting a boundary or simply taking time for yourself.

Those feelings can be worth paying attention to.

Emotional safety doesn’t mean a home without disagreements or difficult emotions. It means those moments can happen without fear, intimidation, humiliation, or having to abandon your own needs to keep the peace.

Healthy boundaries, communication, and support can help make home feel like somewhere your nervous system is allowed to rest. 🤍
