One of the most important conversations I have with potential clients is about candidacy making sure the timing and the conditions are right for permanent makeup before we book anything. I want every client to have the best possible experience and results, and that starts with an honest conversation about whether now is the right time.

Are you a good candidate for permanent makeup?
Here is everything you need to know before you reach out. 👇

Who is a great candidate?
Anyone in general good health with no major medical conditions or skin concerns in the treatment area.
If you want to enhance your natural brows, restore fullness, simplify your morning routine, or address uneven pigmentation. You are likely a great fit.

What might make you ineligible for now?
Pregnant or nursing. Currently undergoing cancer treatment (chemo or radiation). Immunocompromised. Prone to keloids (raised scarring). On Accutane: must wait a full year after stopping. On blood thinners (prescription or supplements). Diabetic: workable with a clearance note from your doctor. Severe acne in the brow area.'

Skincare and treatments to pause before your appointment.
Stop these at least 2 to 3 weeks before: Retinol or Retin-A. Glycolic, salicylic, or other acids. Hyaluronic acid. Benzoyl peroxide. Brow tints within 2 weeks. Lasers or peels within 30 days. Recent sunburn in the treatment area. You still may be eligible if your doctor approves suspending blood thinner meds for 3-4 days.

Raise your hand if you have ever spent 10 minutes getting your eyeliner right only to have it smudge by noon! Permanent eyeliner is one of my favorite services to do because the results are so immediately life-changing for clients who wear liner every day.

I create upper and/or lower liner using a very gentle combination of techniques including Softap, and the results last 1 to 4 years with annual touch-ups to keep the color fresh.
