💚 Cerebral palsy is more than mobility.
Cerebral palsy is commonly associated with physical disability and differences in movement, muscle tone, and coordination. But every person with cerebral palsy is different.
For some individuals, cerebral palsy may also be accompanied by developmental or adaptive support needs that can affect communication, learning, self-care, daily routines, or participation in the community.
That’s why it’s important to look beyond the diagnosis and understand the whole person. Support needs can look different from one individual to another—and the right supports can help people participate, communicate, learn, and live meaningful lives.
If you or someone you support has cerebral palsy and may have developmental support needs, Maryland DDA services may be an option to explore.
