During Flo’s first year, I decorated her bookshelf for every month. It started as a creative outlet and became something much more meaningful.

In the fog of new motherhood and PPD/PPA, those little decorations became markers of time. They helped me connect memories to seasons, milestones, and moments that otherwise might have blended together.

I’ve done this for families in the hospital too. It’s not just cute décor, it’s a way of grounding ourselves when life feels overwhelming. A reminder that time is moving, that seasons change, and that what you’re experiencing is normal. ❤️

Has your child ever had a child life specialist during their hospital visit?

Less is more! I surprised myself when I took my own advice 😅

Kids aren’t scared because they have asthma. They’re scared because they don’t understand it.

That’s why I created this hands-on Asthma Education Kit. ❤️

Using medical play and simple activities, kids can learn what asthma is, what triggers symptoms, and what happens inside their lungs during an asthma flare-up, all in a way that feels approachable and empowering.

Asthma education was my JAM back in the day. This was my favorite way to teach asthma 🫁💨🌬️

Today’s activity cost a few dollars, took 5 minutes to make, and kept her completely engaged. 💛

Sensory play doesn’t need to be fancy to be meaningful. Every squeeze, scoop, and handful of colorful spaghetti is helping build skills she’ll use for years to come.

Sometimes the simplest activities create the biggest learning opportunities.

And honestly? Watching her discover the world is my favorite part. 🌈✨

Grief is long.

It shows up when you least expect it. Hearing their collar jingle, looking for them in their usual spot, missing them in the smallest moments.

My 16-year-old soul dog crossed the rainbow bridge in January. I’ve slowly found the strength to give away some of his things, but the box of memories from his passing (paw prints, dried flowers, photos) was my “I’m not ready yet.”

Until this morning.

Today, I finally opened the box and made this collage to honor him.

I’ll miss you forever, Picasso 🤍
