Dolly Parton’s father couldn’t read or write.

Consider Yourself Warned
You should probably know this before you meet her:

She notices everything.

The little shift in your voice. The thing you thought nobody saw. The idea you casually mentioned three months ago that she somehow remembered.

She will probably ask a question that makes you realize you have been avoiding your own answer.

She is intensely curious, wildly creative, and apparently incapable of having just one idea at a time. Give her a simple project and there is a decent chance she will turn it into a strategy, a campaign, a brand, a story, and somehow a spiritual metaphor before lunch.

She has very high standards, but mostly because she genuinely believes things can be better. If she says, “Try again,” don't take it personally. She probably already knows exactly why it isn't quite right, even if she can't explain it in one sentence.

Also, she will absolutely notice the em dash. She knows what the em, en and hyphen are used for.

She can be practical and mystical in the same breath. She'll talk branding, deadlines, typography and social strategy, then pivot seamlessly into energy, symbolism, synchronicity and the universe trying to get your attention.

She cares a lot. About people. About words. About doing things well. About whether something actually means something.

And here's the real warning:
Don't mistake her warmth for weakness.

She can be incredibly kind and still have a very clear line you probably don't want to cross.

She is a little stubborn. A little intense. A little impatient with nonsense. She will question the thing everyone else accepted without questioning. She will keep digging when most people have already moved on.

She is also probably going to make you laugh when you least expect it.

So if you're meeting her for the first time, come prepared.

Bring your best ideas.

Be honest.

Don't waste her time.

And whatever you do...
Don't tell her, “That's just how we've always done it.”

🦁✨ THE LIONS GATE MAY HAVE PASSED, BUT THE SPARKLE IT AWAKENED IS STILL HERE. ✨

The energy of the Lions Gate was a beautiful reminder to come back to love, joy, courage, and the things that make us feel most alive.

To find your sparkle again.

Not the sparkle someone else expects from you.

Your sparkle.

The little things that light you up. The dreams that make your heart beat faster. The laughter that comes from somewhere deep. The parts of yourself you may have tucked away while simply getting through life.

And now, as we move beyond the Lions Gate, the sky gives us another beautiful invitation.

🌑 A New Moon in Leo
☀️ A Solar Eclipse
🌠 The peak of the Perseid meteor shower

The New Moon in Leo brings us back to the heart. New Moons are traditionally a time for new beginnings and setting intentions in the dark, while Leo invites us to reconnect with creativity, play, passion, confidence, and authentic self-expression.

It asks:
What brings you joy?
What makes you feel alive?
What are you ready to create?

Then comes the Solar Eclipse, when the Moon temporarily moves between us and the Sun.

An eclipse can be seen as a beautiful reminder that sometimes we need a little darkness to recognize the light.

What are you ready to let go of?

What no longer feels like you?

What has been blocking the joy that wants to come through?

And then, almost like a little wink from the universe, we have the Perseid meteor shower reaching its peak. 🌠

The Perseids are created as Earth moves through debris left behind by a comet, producing brilliant streaks of light across the night sky.
And this year, the meteor shower arrives around the New Moon, when the darker sky makes those sparks of light even easier to see.

Darkness doesn't mean there is no light.

Sometimes it simply makes the light more visible.

✨ And perhaps that's the message tying all of this together.

The Lions Gate reminded us to return to love and find our sparkle.

The Leo New Moon asks us to plant new seeds of joy.
The Solar Eclipse invites us to release what is blocking our light.

And the Perseids remind us to look up and notice the magic.

Collectively, perhaps we're being invited to move toward more love, more authenticity, more creativity, and more joy.

Individually, maybe the invitation is much simpler:

Find your sparkle.

Do something that makes you laugh.

Listen to the song that changes your mood.

Dance in the kitchen.

Create something for no reason.

Call the person who makes you feel like yourself.

Go outside and look at the stars.

Follow the little flicker of excitement instead of always following what is practical.

Because joy isn't frivolous.

Joy is energy.

Joy is connection.

Joy is remembering that you are alive.

So as we move through this New Moon, eclipse, and meteor shower energy, ask yourself:

The Lions Gate portal is the opening of the ‘Universal Heart’ to all. This energy is connected to the heart chakra and is symbolic of feminine courage, expression, and strength. It is known to help us emotionally, physically, and spiritually prepare for the next chapter in our lives.

Take 8. Take 8 minutes out of the day just for you. No phone, no computer, nothing but you and God, the universe, and your ancestors and guides. Give thanks to the ancestors and those who guide us and for all that you have and all that you will create together. Pray/meditate on what you need. This is a time to manifest from the heart. Listen to what it may say, you have the courage and strength of a lion to do what needs to be done.

Fun fact - The ancient Egyptians celebrated this annual event when the star Sirius aligned with the Great Pyramid and Sphynx. They believed this formed a frequency receptor of celestial light transmission. The alignment between our Spiritual Sun Sirius, Orion’s Belt, Earth, and even the Great Pyramid of Giza are believed to open this vortex still. Ra, the Egyptian Sun god, is very active and has a hand in this. When you Take 8 today, envision the power of Ra's rays to fill your solar plexes (Solar plexes are a chakra in the upper belly, they are noted by the color yellow. So envision the color yellow filling that part of your body. When done, thank RA and his magic rays.)

The lotus teaches a quiet truth. Every evening it folds into itself and returns beneath the water. Every morning it rises from the murky depths, opens to the sun, and begins again.

The ancient Egyptians saw this as more than nature. They believed the first lotus emerged from the primordial waters, and when it bloomed, Ra brought the first light into the world.

Perhaps we are meant to do the same. We all have moments when life pulls us beneath the surface. But those depths do not define us. They prepare us for the moment we rise again.

The Universe has our attention.

Between an Earth-facing coronal hole sending solar wind toward our planet, heightened solar activity, and a sky full of significant planetary alignments, it's no wonder so many people feel like life has been turned upside down.

Astrology teaches that when the heavens shift, they mirror opportunities for change within us, not because the planets control us, but because they invite us to pay attention.

Then there's the rare alignment of Barbalt’s Basket reminding us that even the stars tell stories of cycles, endings, and new beginnings. Whether you see it as astronomy, astrology, or sacred symbolism, the message feels remarkably similar: we are living through a season of profound transformation.

🌑 Emotionally waterproof? Absolutely not. It’s a purging cleanse.

The Cancer New Moon arrives like your favorite aunt showing up with snacks, tissues, and the uncomfortable question you've been avoiding. 😏

Cancer is ruled by the Moon, making this one of the most emotionally potent new moons of the year. It governs our home, family, intuition, memories, emotional security, and the part of us that wants to feel safe before taking the next step. Physically, Cancer is connected to the stomach, breasts, chest, and digestive system, so if you've been "gut feeling" your way through life (or stress-eating chips at 10 p.m.), the cosmos gets it.

This isn't the moon for forcing answers.

It's the moon for creating a home inside yourself that feels safe enough to receive them.
