🚑 A Quick Note About Our Loaner Ambulance

You may notice an ambulance on the road that looks a little different from the units you’re accustomed to seeing. This unit is currently serving as a loaner ambulance for our department, and we are extremely grateful to the manufacturer for providing it while one of our ambulances is back at their facility being evaluated and repaired due to a frame-height issue.

The timing of this loaner has been especially important for us. Last week, one of our 2015 ambulances suffered a catastrophic engine failure, and we currently have another ambulance undergoing a scheduled remount. Without this loaner unit, our backup fleet would be significantly limited.

Although it may look different, this ambulance is fully equipped, fully functional, and compliant with Texas DSHS requirements. It carries our department name and appropriate Texas identification numbers and responds to calls just like the ambulances you normally see serving our community.

We sincerely thank the manufacturer for working with us and providing this unit. Maintaining reliable ambulance coverage and having backup resources available is critical to ensuring that we can continue providing uninterrupted emergency medical services to our citizens.

So, if you see this slightly different-looking ambulance responding through the county—it’s us, and it’s ready to serve! 🚑

Lavaca county setting precedent for the region! What a great experience and we are proud of all of our people who participated!

❤️ When every minute matters, teamwork matters.
Last Monday, DeTar Healthcare System joined Lavaca Medical Center and Lavaca County EMS for a STEMI drill designed to strengthen coordination and response during a serious heart attack emergency.

The exercise successfully demonstrated a 97-minute door-to-door reperfusion time, meeting the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association benchmark of less than 120 minutes.

We’re proud to work alongside our regional healthcare and EMS partners to strengthen cardiac care across the Crossroads and ensure our teams are prepared when every second counts. ❤️

The exercise was featured in todayThe Victoria Advocate. Read the full story here:

🐾 A Huge Thank You to Lavaca County EMS! 🚑❤️

Today, while Lavaca County EMS crews were responding to a routine call for service, we heard the cries of a tiny kitten coming from underneath the hood of one of our patrol vehicles.

With temperatures climbing and the kitten trapped in a dangerous spot, the EMS crew immediately jumped into action. Working together, they carefully located and safely rescued the little stowaway before the heat could take its toll.

What started as a regular call quickly turned into a life-saving mission for one very small passenger.

We are incredibly grateful for the compassion, teamwork, and dedication shown by our Lavaca County EMS partners. Their willingness to stop and help, even in the middle of an already busy day, made all the difference for this little kitten.

🐱❤️🚑

Thank you, Lavaca County EMS, for reminding us that no act of kindness is too small and no life is too insignificant to save.
