When Your Body, Home & Emotions Feel Overwhelmed 🌧️

Signs Your System May Be Carrying Too Much

There are seasons in life where nothing feels completely wrong — but nothing feels completely right either.

Your house feels heavy. 🏡
Your body feels tired. 😔
Your mind feels full. 🧠

And you cannot quite explain why.

Many people think overwhelm looks like a breakdown.

But most of the time it doesn’t.

Most of the time overwhelm looks quiet.

It looks like dishes left in the sink. 🍽️
Laundry that never quite makes it back to the cupboard. 🧺
A body that feels swollen or tired for no clear reason.
A mind that cannot switch off at night.

It is not laziness.
It is not weakness.

It is often your nervous system asking for space to breathe again. 🌿

And the signs often appear long before we realise what is happening.

Silent Overwhelm 🌫️

Sometimes overwhelm doesn’t look dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like functioning.

You still go to work.
You still cook dinner.
You still answer messages.
You still show up for everyone else.

But inside, your system is running constantly.

Your mind never fully rests.
Your body holds tension.
Your nervous system stays in a quiet state of alert.

And slowly the body begins whispering:

“I need relief.”

Our homes often become mirrors of what is happening inside us.

This tick season is no joke! Be sure to protect you and your pets against ticks and other summer bugs this summer!

Ticks hate Eucalyptus, Lemongrass and Peppermint!

For use directly on skin:

Make a lotion with our unscented lotion, TerraShield, Eucalyptus, Lemongrass and peppermint. Add geranium and Cedarwood for added protection.

For added sun protection, add these oils to the doTerra Sunscreen lotion!

For use over clothes and hair:

In a 8 or 12 oz spray spray bottle, add oils and a bit of witch hazel. This is safe for pets too, except the Eucalyptus. Keep out of eyes.

If anyone has a tick bite and latches on:

Rub the skin around the tick with peppermint oil. Don't douse it! Ticks hate peppermint and will back out. This happens pretty quickly. Grab the tick with tweezers and KILL that thing!!

Alternate applying Purify and On Guard to the site of the bite.

With warmer weather coming, I’ve been getting LOTS of questions about outdoor sprays, rollers, ticks, and what’s safe for dogs too. 🌿🐕

So I decided to make a few simple recipes:
✨ a roller version for people
✨ a spray version for outdoor gear/clothing
✨ and a gentler dog version

A few things to understand first:

Ticks are different than mosquitoes.
They don’t just fly around…
they crawl onto:
🌿 shoes
🌿 socks
🌿 pant legs
🌿 backpacks
🌿 pets

That’s why sprays can work REALLY well for:
- outdoor gear
- shoes
- clothing
- backpacks
- dog bandanas/harnesses

while rollers are nice for:
- ankles
- behind knees
- waistline
- arms

For the DOG version, I made it gentler and simpler.
Dogs process oils differently than we do, so I prefer lighter blends and lower dilution for them. 🐕

And no…
I would NOT use the stronger human version on cats.

I posted a roller version, 2 ounce spray version, and a 2 ounce dog version. You can save whichever fits your needs best.
