🩸 THE VAMPIRE FACIAL: WHAT’S ALL THE HYPE ABOUT?

The secret ingredient isn’t a fancy serum.

It’s you.

A Vampire Facial combines microneedling with your own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to support your skin’s natural repair and rejuvenation process.

We draw a small amount of your blood, concentrate the platelet-rich portion, then use your PRP as part of the microneedling treatment.

Why?

Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the skin’s repair response, while PRP contains concentrated platelets and growth factors involved in tissue healing.

Together, they may help improve the appearance of:

✨ Fine lines and wrinkles
✨ Uneven skin tone and texture
✨ Acne scars
✨ Sun-damaged skin
✨ Dull or aging skin
✨ Overall skin quality

And this isn’t about changing the way you look.

It’s about helping your skin look healthier, smoother, and refreshed—using something that came from your own body.

No artificial filler.
No trying to look like someone else.

Just your skin + your PRP + your body’s natural repair process.

🩸 The power is within you.

That’s the Vampire Facial.

Your insurance deductible might be $3,000… $5,000… or more.

And that’s before your insurance really starts paying.

Meanwhile, you could have Direct Primary Care for an entire year for a fraction of that cost.

With a True North DPC membership:

✔️ $0 copays for your primary care visits
✔️ No surprise bills from us
✔️ Unlimited visits when you need them
✔️ Same- or next-day access whenever possible
✔️ Longer appointments that aren’t rushed
✔️ Direct access to your healthcare team through secure messaging
✔️ Transparent, discounted pricing on labs, medications, imaging & more

And yes—you can keep your insurance.

In fact, most of our patients do.

Insurance is valuable for the big stuff: hospitalizations, surgery, specialists, emergencies and unexpected medical expenses.

DPC is for the healthcare you actually use all year long.

Instead of avoiding the doctor because you haven’t met your deductible, imagine simply making an appointment when you need one—and knowing the visit is already covered by your membership.

One predictable monthly fee.
Zero copays.
No surprise bills.
Primary care that’s actually accessible.

🩸 JOINT PAIN? LET’S TALK PRP.

What if, instead of only trying to quiet the pain, we could also support your body’s own repair process?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy uses something incredibly powerful: YOU.

We start with a small amount of your own blood, separate and concentrate the platelet-rich portion, then precisely inject it into the area being treated.

Why platelets?

Platelets contain growth factors and signaling proteins involved in tissue repair and healing. By concentrating them and delivering them directly to an injured or painful area, PRP is designed to support and enhance that natural process.

PRP may be an option for certain:

🦵 Osteoarthritis and joint pain
💪 Tendon and ligament injuries
🏃 Sports and overuse injuries
🎾 Tennis or golfer’s elbow
🤕 Chronic musculoskeletal injuries

And unlike a medication or steroid injection designed primarily to reduce symptoms, PRP takes a different approach: supporting the biology of healing.

Your own platelets may be one of the tools we can use to help get you moving again.

Your blood.
Your platelets.
Your potential.

🩸 The power is within you.

Call us to learn whether PRP Joint Therapy may be appropriate for you.

“But I already have insurance…”

We hear this all the time.

And the answer is simple:

Insurance and Direct Primary Care are not mutually exclusive.

In fact, many of our members have Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, Cigna, or another insurance plan — and still choose True North.

Why?

Because having insurance doesn’t necessarily mean having access to healthcare when you need it.

With a True North membership, you aren’t paying for a single visit.

You’re paying for an ongoing relationship with a healthcare team that knows you — and is there when you need them.

Your membership includes things like:

• Unlimited primary care visits
• Same-day or next-day access
• Direct messaging with providers
• Annual labs
• After-hours nursing support
• Medication management
• Many common office procedures

And there’s another important difference.

Insurance often dictates how providers practice medicine.

Direct Primary Care allows you and your provider to make healthcare decisions together.

You also have the freedom to choose when to use your insurance and when transparent cash pricing is the better option.

That might mean using insurance for the big things — while using your DPC membership for the everyday healthcare that keeps you healthy and hopefully helps prevent some of those big things in the first place.

Because the goal isn’t to see you more because you’re sick.

We get paid the same whether you’re sick or healthy.

We don’t make more money because you need more appointments.

We don’t profit from illness.

Our success is tied to healthy patients.

Or, as we like to explain it:

“We don’t benefit when you’re sick. We benefit when you’re healthy.”

That creates a very different relationship between a patient and their healthcare team.

So yes — you can absolutely have insurance and Direct Primary Care.

Many of our patients do.

They’re not simply paying for another doctor’s appointment.

They’re choosing access, trust, convenience, peace of mind, and personalized care.

This is what healthcare should look like.

🩸 THE POWER IS WITHIN YOU!
YOUR BLOOD. YOUR PLATELETS.

Sometimes, one of the most powerful tools we can use comes from your own body.

PRP — Platelet-Rich Plasma — starts with a small sample of your own blood. We concentrate the platelet-rich portion, which contains growth factors and other signaling proteins involved in your body’s natural healing process, and place it precisely where we want to stimulate a healing response.

At True North, we use PRP for much more than aesthetics.

🦵 Joint & tendon therapy
💆‍♀️ Vampire Facial / skin rejuvenation
🩸 Hair restoration
💕 O-Shot®
💙 P-Shot®
✨ Vampire Breast Lift

For joint and tendon problems in particular, PRP offers a very different approach:

Instead of simply asking, “How can we make this hurt less?”

We can also ask, “How can we support the body’s healing?

And the best part?

It starts with you. 🩸

Over the next few weeks, we’re going to take a closer look at PRP—what it does, where we use it, and some of the “Vampire” therapies you may have heard about but never quite understood.

Stay tuned. 🧛‍♀️

“But I already have insurance…”

So do most of our patients. ❤️

Whether you have commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or VA benefits, Direct Primary Care can still make sense.

Think of it this way:

🛡️ Insurance is there for the big things — hospitalizations, surgery, specialists, emergencies and expensive testing.

🩺 DPC is there for your everyday healthcare — when you’re sick, have a question, need a medication adjusted, want to discuss your labs, or simply want more than a rushed appointment.

At True North, your membership gives you:

• Same- or next-day appointments whenever possible
• Longer visits with your provider
• Direct access through secure messaging
• No copays for DPC visits
• Discounted labs, medications, imaging & more—or, you can choose to use your insurance for these services!
• Preventive and chronic disease care
• A provider who actually has time to know you

You don’t have to choose between insurance and DPC.

Keep your insurance for what it does well.

Choose DPC for the primary care experience you wish insurance gave you! 🌟

THREE incredible providers. THREE different areas of expertise. And all THREE are accepting new patients at True North! 🧭💙

Finding a primary care provider shouldn’t just be about finding someone with an opening on their schedule. It should be about finding someone you trust — someone who listens, knows you, and has the time to actually care for you.

We’re excited to have Stephanie Angert, NP-C, Katie Herczeg, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, and Dr. Johanna Dreiling currently welcoming new patients at True North Direct Primary Care.

✨ Stephanie Angert, NP-C
Stephanie has a special interest in women’s health, hormone and sexual health, sports medicine, exercise and nutrition, along with comprehensive family medicine. Her approach is highly collaborative — she believes in educating patients, having real conversations about their health, and helping them become active participants in their care.

✨ Katie Herczeg, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
With approximately 22 years in healthcare and 18 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Katie brings an incredible breadth of experience. Her background includes family medicine, emergency and urgent care, hospital medicine, hormone management and sleep medicine. She also has experience teaching advanced pathophysiology and pharmacology — so if you like understanding the why behind your health, Katie is a fantastic fit.

✨ Dr. Johanna Dreiling
Dr. Dreiling combines evidence-based family medicine with a strong focus on prevention, women’s health, hormone optimization, longevity and lifestyle medicine. Her goal is not simply to treat what’s wrong today, but to help patients understand their health, reduce future risk and feel their best as they age.

And because they practice within the Direct Primary Care model, they have something traditional healthcare often doesn’t give providers enough of:

TIME.

Time to listen.
Time to ask questions.
Time to explain.
Time to look at the whole picture.
And time to build an actual relationship with you.

Whether you’re looking for a new family medicine provider, better access to primary care, help navigating hormones and midlife health, or simply a healthcare experience that feels more personal — we’d love to help you find the True North provider who’s right for you.

💡 DID YOU KNOW? — PROGESTERONE

Progesterone isn’t just a reproductive hormone.

It plays an important role throughout a woman’s body—and declining progesterone is often one of the earliest hormonal changes of perimenopause.

As ovulation becomes less consistent, progesterone production can decline even while estrogen levels continue to fluctuate. That changing balance may contribute to some of the symptoms women notice during perimenopause.

Progesterone plays important roles in:

😴 Sleep — Progesterone and its metabolites interact with GABA pathways in the brain, which may promote relaxation and support sleep.

🧠 Brain & mood — Its effects on the nervous system may influence feelings of calm, mood, and emotional well-being.

🩸 Menstrual cycles — Progesterone helps regulate the menstrual cycle and balances estrogen’s effects on the uterine lining.

🦴 Bone health — Progesterone is involved in normal bone remodeling and works alongside estrogen in maintaining skeletal health.

🌸 Uterine protection — For women with a uterus using systemic estrogen therapy, adequate progestogen is important because it protects the endometrium from the effects of unopposed estrogen.

And here’s something many women don’t realize:

Progesterone and progestins aren’t necessarily the same thing.

Micronized progesterone is structurally identical to the progesterone produced by the human body. Some of its effects and risk profile differ from those of certain synthetic progestins—one reason the specific hormone and formulation matter when discussing hormone therapy.

Hormones don’t work independently. Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone all have different jobs—and women’s hormone care shouldn’t focus on just one of them.

At True North, we believe women deserve to understand what’s changing in their bodies and have an individualized, evidence-based conversation about their options.

Menopause isn’t just about hot flashes. And hormone therapy isn’t just about estrogen.

Things We’re Normalizing in Healthcare 🧭

Getting an appointment when you’re actually sick.

Having enough time with your provider to talk about what’s really going on — without feeling rushed.

Knowing what something costs before you agree to it.

Reaching your healthcare team and actually getting a timely response.

Having a provider who knows you — not just your diagnosis list.

Talking about prevention before something becomes a problem.

Addressing more than one concern at the same visit.

Making healthcare decisions based on what’s best for the patient — not what an insurance company will reimburse.

None of this should feel exceptional.

It should just feel like healthcare.

We know we can’t change the entire healthcare system overnight.

But we can change the way healthcare is delivered in our little corner of it.

And every day, that’s exactly what we’re working to do.

Better healthcare shouldn’t feel unusual.
