ARTIST • OWNER • ICON — SHAWN WARCOT
Here at Texas Rose Tattoo Commission, we’re proud to call Shawn Warcot our owner — a true original in the tattoo world, with a career spanning over 25 years and deep roots in both fine art and tattoo culture.
Long before Hamilton, TX, and long before Empire Tattoo Studios became a SoCal institution, Shawn was making waves in Los Angeles’ art scene — including exhibitions at the legendary La Luz De Jesus Gallery on Melrose Avenue:
🖼️ Exhibition Highlights:
📍 “4 Person Show” – March 1995
— Shawn Warcot, David Burke, Dennis Worden, Robert Armstrong
📍 A Group Show – February 1994
— Featuring Pablo, Alan Forbes, Kim Deitch, Shawn Warcot, Aaron Smith
These early shows placed Shawn among respected underground and pop surrealist artists, long before tattooing gained mainstream acceptance — and helped shape the unique visual style he’s now known for.
In addition to founding Empire Tattoo Studios (with 2 Southern California locations and the longest-running shop in the Inland Empire), Shawn brings his talent, passion, and artistic eye right here to Texas Rose Tattoo Commission.
