👋🏻Hello everyone!!!

What a year it’s been!!!! Today is exactly ONE YEAR from Justin receiving his kidney transplant! We couldn’t be happier!

Everything has been going great. Blood work weekly has been very good and no rejection, which is what we want!

It has been amazing to get back to a more normal lifestyle-traveling, diet, having energy again.

We’ve had such a busy last year. Lots of camping, fishing, traveling out to Montana to see a good friend, Nashville. To much to try and remember!! 🤩 We’ve enjoyed the family time together! ❤️

We appreciate all the support from family and friends for helping with everything! 💗

Good evening!!

We have some amazing news once again!

Justin RECEIVED a KIDNEY transplant!!! 😱❤️❤️

We couldn’t be more thankful for this opportunity to come and give us a life we deserve!!! This blessing had come so much sooner than we had ever expected. We are so happy and cannot wait to continue our journey of healing and enjoying the little things that everyone looks forward too.

It’s been a long 6 years of battling polycystic kidney disease. From being diagnosed, getting a nephrectomy, to now receiving a transplant. Our wait is finally over and we can enjoy life again.

Justin is one week post op and he is healing very well. Kidney is working significantly well and we couldn’t be more thankful. 🤗

With this transplant, the monitoring will continue for the life of the kidney. To our surprise, transplants can last as long as 20+ years. Let’s hope we take precious care of this organ and make it last as long as possible!!!

This opportunity could not have happened without all of you. We are EXTREMELY thankful for all the shares, likes, comments, emails, and support from our endless number of friends and families!!!

I hope our story reaches others knowing good things always come to those who wait. It may be a long wait, but your time will come. 😊

If you have questions or would like more information on what the process is like, or help others and become a donor, our email is always available!!

Feel free to reach out!

Love,
Justin, Ashley, Evelyn & Leo

Good morning! 🌞

We have some extremely EXCITING news!!! We had received a call a few weeks ago that we had an approved donor through the paired kidney exchange program! 🤩 We cannot tell you all how extremely grateful and blessed we are for this wonderful person coming forward to help people in need!! This has been a long 2 year search but we never gave up! 💜

You may be wondering, this donor is not a match for Justin, but it allows him to move up the list for receiving a transplant as our donor donated in Justin’s behalf.

The first hurdle we had to overcome was having a nephrectomy to remove both kidneys. This also means we begin the dialysis journey. Because of the size of his kidneys due to his polycystic kidney disease, they needed to be removed to make room for a transplant. That surgery was recent and it has been a tough couple weeks. He is home and doing great now. Our kiddos were excited to have mom and dad back home!

To give you an idea on how big someone’s kidneys can be with this disease, doctors believed them to have weighed nearly 20 lbs!! 😳 isn’t that crazy?! 🤯 we were surprised to say the least.

Dialysis has been a great start so far. It’s definitely an adjustment to our schedule, but we are hopeful he will not have to be on dialysis for too long. Doctors are hoping he only needs to be on dialysis for a few months, but it is not guaranteed. So we are crossing our fingers! 🤞🏻

We cannot thank everyone enough for all the help in getting our journey spread across the world! It means so much to us, so thank you! 💞

We still have a long road ahead of us, but we are one step closer in living a more normal lifestyle!

With love,
Justin & Ashley

☀️Good afternoon! I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Little update: Justin is at 7% kidney function, which is down 1% from 3 months ago. We were able to go another 3 months from his last doctor appointment. His phosphorus has been high the last few months, but everything else is where they want it, so we are able to go another 3 months in between doctor appointments, avoiding dialysis. 🤗

Besides not having much for energy, he is doing as good as he is able to! Kids are growing fast, our son Leo turned 2 in February and our daughter Evelyn turns 8 the end of March! She has a love for horses and has been doing a few riding lessons. They are getting so big!

We are still searching for a donor for Justin! Please reach out to us with any questions you have or if you’d be interested in donating.

Thanks for all the support so far! We appreciate every single one of you, and those that have shared our story! It has reached thousands of people! We can’t tell you enough how much that means to us! ❤️

Thanks again!

☀️Good morning everyone! Happy Monday!

Giving you all an update this morning. It’s been a great last few months with Justin and his blood work and kidney function.

He has had 2 doctor appointments in the last 2 weeks. His kidney function has unfortunately gone down 2% since 3 months ago, he is now at 8% kidney function. We are waiting to hear from his doctor on what the next steps are (another round of blood work, or start dialysis). We are hoping we can push this off a little bit longer, but unfortunately we are nearing the end.

We are not sure what our future entails with dialysis and what that schedule will look like, but I will let you know as soon as we have started that process! 😊

With that being said, we are still searching for a kidney donor! We have had wonderful success in many reaching out, wondering how they can help and we are grateful for that!!

Please share this post and our story with everyone you know! Feel free to email us at [email protected] with any questions you have or if you are interested in finding out how you can be a donor. ❤️

Thanks again for all the support!

Love,
Justin & Ashley 💗

🌟I wanted to circle back around as many have been asking for Justin’s blood type. ANYONE can donate a kidney. This previous post explains a little more on how that’s possible. 🌟

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
