Alcohol addiction is ugly.
Not always on the outside… but on the inside where nobody can see it.

I’ve watched someone I love slowly disappear while still being physically standing right in front of me. The exhaustion. The shame. The anxiety. The broken promises to themselves. The “I’ll stop tomorrow” that turned into months… then years.

People think addiction is just about drinking too much. They don’t see the mental battle that happens every single day. They don’t see someone lying awake at night hating themselves for needing the very thing destroying them. They don’t see the brain fog, the depression, the panic, the emptiness, or how badly someone wants to feel normal again.
