🏆🥇 TEAM OCEANSIDE GOES FOR THE GOLD! 🥇🏆

Six of our amazing residents traveled to Applewood Center in Wi******er, NH, to compete in the 2026 Senior Olympics! 💙

Our Oceanside athletes brought their competitive spirit, determination, and plenty of enthusiasm as they went head-to-head with 18 in-person teams, while another 15 teams joined the competition virtually!

From 🎳 bowling and bean bag toss to horseshoes, wheelchair slalom, and a fun-filled Name That Tune competition, our residents gave it their all!

🥈 TONY B. – SILVER MEDAL!
🥉 JOE B. – BRONZE MEDAL!

Both earned their medals in the Wheelchair Slalom competition! What an incredible accomplishment! 👏👏👏

We couldn’t be prouder of all six of our residents who represented Oceanside Center! While bringing home medals is certainly exciting, the true victory was in the friendships, laughter, teamwork, and unforgettable memories made throughout the day. ❤️

❤️ Leading With Heart at Oceanside Center ❤️
This week, we are especially excited to recognize TWO incredible members of our overnight nursing team as our Leading With Heart Award recipients — Darlene Coughlin, MNA/LNA, and Marites Murphy, LNA!
Darlene and Marites are both dedicated members of our 11 PM–7 AM team, and although much of what they do happens while many of us are sleeping, their commitment to our residents certainly does not go unnoticed.
To us, Leading With Heart means more than simply doing your job. It means showing compassion in the little moments, stepping up when someone needs help, supporting your coworkers, and treating our residents with the kindness, dignity, and respect they deserve. The award itself is intended to recognize team members who demonstrate how they “lead with heart” and go above and beyond for their center.
Darlene and Marites embody that spirit every day. They are dependable, compassionate, hardworking, and always willing to jump in wherever they are needed. Whether it means helping a resident, assisting a teammate, or taking on something extra to make sure our residents receive the very best care, they continually put the needs of others first.
Our overnight team plays such an important role at Oceanside. Providing comfort, reassurance, safety, and quality care throughout the night takes a special kind of dedication, and we are incredibly fortunate to have Darlene and Marites as part of our Oceanside family.

🎓🩺 Congratulations to Our Newest LNA Graduates! 🩺🎓
Yesterday was a very special day at Oceanside Center as we celebrated another graduating class from our LNA Training Program! 💙
After completing 128 hours of classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, and clinical experience, these dedicated graduates have officially completed the program and are ready for the next exciting chapter in their healthcare careers.
What makes this graduation even more special is that their journey with us isn’t ending here — our graduates will be continuing with Genesis as LNAs! 🌟 We are so excited to watch them take everything they have learned and put it into practice while caring for our residents and becoming an important part of our nursing team.
There is something incredibly rewarding about being able to provide an opportunity for individuals to learn, grow, and begin a career in healthcare right here within our own building — and then welcome them onto our team. 💙
A huge thank you to our wonderful instructors, leadership team, staff, and residents who helped support our students throughout their training. It truly takes a team to create an environment where future healthcare professionals can learn and succeed.
And most importantly, CONGRATULATIONS to our graduates! 🎉💐 Your hard work, dedication, and compassion brought you to this moment, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what comes next.

💜 Understanding Alzheimer’s & Dementia — Community Education Event 💜

Oceanside Center is proud to host an important educational presentation for families, caregivers, community members, and anyone interested in learning more about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Join us on Tuesday, September 29th at 5:30 PM as we discuss the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, stages and risk factors, the impact of the disease, current research and treatments, and helpful resources available through the Alzheimer’s Association.

Join us at Oceanside Center for an important and informative evening focused on Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Whether you are caring for a loved one, have a family member living with dementia, work with older adults, or simply want to learn more, this program is open to our families and our community. Everyone is welcome!

During this program, we’ll learn about:
• The impact of Alzheimer’s disease
• The difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia
• Disease stages and risk factors
• Current research and treatments available to address some symptoms
• Resources available through the Alzheimer’s Association

Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging. Understanding the disease can help us better support our loved ones, our families, and one another.

Please join us in congratulating Miguel Torres, LNA at Oceanside Center, on being recognized as our Weekly Heartbeat Award recipient in June AND he was also chosen by our corporate team to be our Quarterly Heartbeat Award recipient.

As an LNA, Miguel consistently performs at a high level, showing compassion, empathy, and attention to detail in everything he does. He goes above and beyond to serve our residents and their families, making a meaningful difference in the patient and resident experience each and every day.

🌟 Exciting News at Oceanside Center!
We are proud to support and grow the next generation of nursing professionals through our LNA Training Program! 🩺💙

Our LNA program consists of 128 hours of training, including 64 hours of classroom theory and 64 hours of clinical experience. Students learn through lectures, exams, and hands-on lab practice, building the essential skills needed to provide compassionate, quality care.

The clinical portion takes place right here in our building, where students gain valuable experience on our various units while providing care to our residents. This hands-on experience allows them to continue developing their skills in a real-world healthcare setting. 💙

Upon completion of the program, students graduate prepared to take the State LNA Exam, which consists of both a written exam and a skills exam. Once they successfully pass both portions, they are eligible to apply for their Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) license. 🎓🩺

We are so proud to be a part of their journey and to invest in the future of nursing! Thank you to our amazing educators, staff, and residents who help make this learning experience possible. 🌊💙

There is something truly special about taking a moment to recognize the good things in our lives. Our residents have been sharing what they are grateful for on our Gratitude Board—and their heartfelt messages are a beautiful reminder of the simple things that mean so much.

From family and friends, our amazing staff, good health, sunshine, clean water, laughter, community, and simply being alive—each note tells a little story and adds a little more positivity to our halls.

We are so grateful to our residents for sharing their hearts with us and reminding us to pause, appreciate, and celebrate the good.

Please join us in celebrating Laurie Murray, our recent recipient of the Leading with Hearts Award! 🌟

Laurie has been part of the Ocean Side Center family since April, and she has already made such a meaningful impact on our team. As our LNA Instructor, Laurie is helping lead the way in nursing education—sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion with our newest staff members.

She doesn’t just teach the nursing way; she leads by example, giving new employees someone to look up to, learn from, and be inspired by. Her dedication to growing our nursing education department is helping build a stronger, more confident team and ultimately enhancing the care we provide to our residents. 🩺❤️

And beyond education, Laurie has a special way of bringing smiles to our staff and residents every day. Her heart, kindness, and commitment truly make a difference.
