Thank you, Kinetic Wellness Myofascial Release

What I offer isn’t about fixing you. It’s not about making pain disappear or chasing some perfect version of your body.

It’s about listening….
To the places that are holding.
To the tension that’s become so familiar you barely notice it anymore.
To the parts of you that haven’t been met or heard until now.

My work is quiet and precise.
It meets your body where it’s at and gives it space to release on its own terms.

You don’t have to explain everything.
You don’t have to believe in anything.
You just have to be open to the possibility that your body knows how to shift and maybe now is the time.

This isn’t surface work.
This is come-home-to-yourself work.

If you’re ready for that.
I’d love to work with you.

💜 Healing Crisis or Healing Opportunity?

One of the most common questions I hear after a John F. Barnes Myofascial Release session is:

“Why do I feel worse?”

The truth is, sometimes healing doesn’t feel good before it feels better.

As restrictions begin to release, the body may start revealing what has been hidden beneath layers of compensation, tension, inflammation, trauma, and protective patterns.

You may experience:

✨ Increased soreness
✨ Old symptoms resurfacing
✨ Fatigue
✨ Emotional releases
✨ Temporary pain flare-ups
✨ Changes in posture or movement patterns
✨ Feeling more aware of your body than usual

This is often referred to as a healing crisis.

It doesn’t mean something has gone wrong.

It may mean your body is finally processing something it has been holding onto for a long time.

What Should You Do?

💜 Don’t wait weeks to address it.

When possible, getting another Myofascial Release treatment sooner rather than later can help the body continue moving through the process instead of getting stuck in the next layer of restriction.

💜 Continue your self-treatment program.

💜 Hydrate and rest.

💜 Breathe into the discomfort rather than fighting it.

💜 Journal any emotions, memories, or insights that arise.

💜 Let your therapist know what you’re experiencing.

💜 Trust your body’s wisdom.

Sometimes what feels like a setback is actually your body moving closer to the root cause.

Healing is rarely a straight line.

There are layers.

There are ups and downs.

There are moments where the body reorganizes, unwinds, and recalibrates.

As John Barnes often teaches, healing occurs in the order the body is ready to heal.

Sometimes the greatest breakthroughs happen right after what feels like the hardest part of the journey.

✨ Trust the process.
✨ Stay present.
✨ Get support.
✨ Keep moving forward.

Your body knows the way.

My hands have been very busy.
My right hand miraculously healing. My left hand doing everything and helping to release what is hard, hot, and tender.

Today, my son's wrist was sore. Gently, I worked his right hand and arm, sneaking in some body balancing while tuning in to what I was feeling in my own body.

These past 8 weeks have given me another unexpected opportunity to experience healing from the other side of the table. Not only did my body go thru this traumatic experience, it remembered going thru a similar experience in '83.
My body remembered the fear of both traumas--there has been alot.

As a therapist, I often witness the courage, patience, and perseverance healing requires.

Living it again myself has deepened my understanding in ways I never expected.

Recovery is rarely linear. It asks us to slow down, listen carefully, honor our limitations, and celebrate even the smallest gains.

Some days feel easier; others remind us that healing unfolds in its own time.

As I continue doing my own healing work—body, mind, and spirit—I find myself looking forward to returning to the work I love. Supporting others on their healing journeys has always been a privilege, and this experience has only strengthened my appreciation for that calling.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with encouragement, prayers, and support. Your kindness has been part of my healing.

I am getting stronger every day, and while I'm not quite ready yet, I can feel the path leading me back to the work I love and the people I have been honored to serve.💜

Your tongue is not just for speech or swallowing.
It plays a massive role in how the face, jaw, airway, neck, posture, breathing patterns, and nervous system develop over time.

The tongue is designed to naturally rest against the roof of the mouth. This gentle upward pressure helps support proper palate development, nasal breathing, jaw alignment, and overall postural stability.

When the tongue rests low in the mouth and mouth breathing becomes the dominant pattern, the body often begins compensating.

Over time, this can contribute to:

✨ Narrow palate
✨ Forward head posture
✨ TMJ dysfunction
✨ Neck and shoulder tension
✨ Poor breathing mechanics
✨ Airway restriction
✨ Facial asymmetry
✨ Nervous system stress
✨ Poor postural support
✨ Increased muscular compensation throughout the body

The body is incredibly adaptive.
If breathing or oral posture is compromised, the entire fascial and muscular system reorganizes around it.

As John F. Barnes teaches, the body functions as one interconnected system. Restrictions and compensations in one area can create effects throughout the entire body.

This is why proper tongue posture, nasal breathing, jaw alignment, diaphragmatic breathing, and fascial mobility matter far beyond aesthetics.

It’s not just about how someone looks.
It’s about how the body functions, stabilizes, breathes, regulates stress, and develops from the inside out.

Myofascial Release can help address some of the compensatory tension patterns often associated with forward head posture, jaw tension, diaphragm restrictions, cervical compression, and nervous system overload — helping the body move toward better balance and alignment.

Healing often begins by addressing the root patterns the body has been adapting around for years.
