I’ve followed the Brown family for years and watched every episode of the show. It’s something my mom and I enjoyed together, and Matt was always her favorite.

I’m deeply saddened to hear of his tragic passing. It’s a reminder to check in on your friends and loved ones, extend a little grace, and choose kindness whenever you can. You never truly know what battles someone is facing behind the scenes.

My heart goes out to those who knew and loved Matt beyond what viewers saw on television. I hope you’ve finally found peace, Matt. I’m sorry that some of your struggles and hardships weren’t met with more compassion and understanding 🤍

People love to say, “What hurt you made you stronger.”
But sometimes pain doesn’t make you stronger at all. Sometimes it leaves you exhausted, anxious, bitter, numb, or barely holding yourself together. Some battles don’t build you, they break you.

What made the difference was Jesus.

Jesus met me in the middle of the grief, the confusion, the disappointment, and the silent nights nobody knew about. He stayed when I felt abandoned. He carried me when I had no strength left to carry myself. He reminded me that being shattered was not the end of my story.

The pain destroyed parts of me.
The pride.
The illusion of control.
The version of me that thought I could survive without God.

But Jesus rebuilt me.

Piece by piece.
Prayer by prayer.
Grace by grace.

Not into who I was before, but into someone more dependent on Him, more compassionate, more grounded, and more aware of His presence than ever before.

No, I don’t glorify the pain.
I glorify the Savior who walked with me through it and refused to leave me there. 🤍🙏🏻

All of my beautiful flowers are finally blooming! 🌺

We also had such a fun day visiting the Mennonite community in Spencer, Tennessee and picking up all kinds of things to plant and enjoy — herbs, tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, and so much more! I can’t wait to get everything planted in my new garden beds. 🌱

‼️We’ll be interviewing NFL legend Tony Mandarich tonight at 6pm on SpeakLife with Shane Franks podcast! Tune in to hear Tony’s story of his rise and fall, and how he now advocates for sobriety and mental health. It is sure to be an inspirational conversation! 💚

Broken by Fame, Rebuilt by God — The Tony Mandarich Story

LIVE Thurs. May 14th 6pm EST

In 1989, Tony Mandarich was supposed to be the future of the NFL. Dubbed “the best offensive line prospect ever,” he was a physical specimen unlike anything the league had seen — and the Green Bay Packers made him the second overall pick to prove it. But behind the muscle, the magazine covers, and the bravado was a man fighting battles no one could see.
What followed was a painful unraveling — not of character, but of a human being drowning in addiction. The story the world told about Tony Mandarich was one of failure. The real story is one of survival.
After years of struggle, Tony found the courage to step away from everything — the game, the image, the substances — and do the hardest work of his life. He came back to football clean, came back to himself even cleaner, and eventually found his voice in a memoir and a life rebuilt from the ground up.
This isn’t a story about football. It’s a story about what it costs to chase greatness the wrong way, what it takes to hit rock bottom and climb out, and what God can do with a life that the world has already written off.
Tony Mandarich’s greatest victory never happened on a football field.

Well… your girl took a tumble down a couple of stairs today 😅

Thank Jesus nothing is broken, but I did end up with a sprain. I was in a LOT of pain earlier, and I’ve still got a knot that’s somehow bigger than my actual ankle 🙃

So thankful for my people who jumped in right away—helping with the kids and covering me in prayer. Y’all are the real MVPs ❤️
