Addiction comes in many shapes and sizes.
When we hear the word addiction, most of us immediately think of drugs or alcohol. But addiction and compulsive behavior can involve other things too—including po*******hy.
Research using brain scans has found that people struggling with compulsive po*******hy use can show changes in how their brains respond to sexual images and cravings. Some of these patterns are similar to what researchers see with substance addictions.
That’s an important reminder: we can’t always see what someone is battling.
A person can look successful, go to work, raise a family, attend church, and smile every day while privately struggling with a behavior they feel they cannot control.
Addiction isn’t always found in a bottle, a pill, or a needle. Sometimes it’s found behind a screen.
We need to talk about these struggles without shame while still being honest about the harm they can cause. Awareness opens the door for conversations, help, healing, and freedom. ❤️
