We Will Never Forget 🇺🇸

Today, we remember September 11, 2001 — a day that changed our nation forever.
We remember the lives that were lost, the families whose worlds changed in an instant, and the first responders and everyday Americans who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

More than two decades later, the memories remain.

So does the lesson: life is precious, time with the people we love matters, and in our darkest moments, compassion and unity can bring us together.

From all of us at Treasure Hills Healthcare and Rehabilitation, we honor those we lost, those who served, and those who still carry the weight of that day.

A Beautiful Example of Compassion 💙

Today we want to recognize Nora Ornelas for the kindness, generosity, and heart she brings to our Treasure Hills community.

Although Nora is dedicated to caring for one of our residents, her compassion reaches far beyond that role. She volunteers at activities and outings, brings snacks and prizes, remembers birthdays, and looks for ways to make our residents feel special.

She even shares her talents as a professional aesthetician by providing relaxing facials during spa days at no cost, simply because she wants our residents to feel pampered, cared for, and valued.

What makes Nora truly special is the way she takes time to know each resident personally. She learns what they enjoy, shows up for them, and gives without expecting anything in return.

Thank you, Nora, for reminding us what selflessness and compassion look like in action. We are grateful to have you as part of the Treasure Hills family. 💙

A Son’s Love Changes With Time 💙

There was a time when she held his hand to cross the street, stayed up when he was sick, and worried about whether he made it home safely.

She was the one who reminded him to eat, encouraged him when life got hard, and somehow always knew when something was wrong.

Years pass, and one day the roles begin to change.

Now he is the one walking beside her.
Checking to make sure she is comfortable.
Helping her get where she needs to go.
Listening a little more patiently.
Staying close, just in case she needs him.

He may still see the strong woman who raised him, even when the years have made her a little more fragile.

That is the beautiful thing about a son’s love for his aging mother. It does not disappear when life changes. It simply learns a new way to show up.

Sometimes love looks like flowers or gifts.

And sometimes, it looks like quietly walking beside your mom down a hallway, making sure she never has to take the journey alone. 💙

Today, we celebrate the hardworking people who give their time, energy, and heart to caring for others.

To our nurses, CNAs, therapists, housekeeping, dietary, maintenance, social services, administration, and every member of our team, thank you for everything you do, day in and day out.

Your work matters. Your compassion matters. And the difference you make in the lives of our residents and families does not go unnoticed.

When a family tells us that Treasure Hills felt like home, that is one of the greatest compliments we can receive.

Cindy recently shared this beautiful review about her father’s stay:

“Outstanding service!!! Thank you to all the staff that was so attentive and helpful to my father while he was at the facility. Thank you for going above and beyond to make it feel more like a home.

Thank you to the kitchen who provided healthy and delicious meals that my father enjoyed. Housekeeping maintained his room clean and took time to have a conversation with him. CNAs and nurses provided compassionate care and attended to all his needs. Therapy provided excellent service, giving him encouragement and goals. He always looked forward to therapy time.

This was a home for my father and my family while he was at your building, and we are very grateful for all the love and support.” — Cindy

This Week’s Tip: Don’t Wait for a Special Occasion to Show Up 💙

Sometimes we think we need a birthday, holiday, or special reason to visit the people we love.

We don’t.

A simple visit.
A phone call.
Sitting beside them for a few minutes.
Listening to the same story one more time.

Those moments may feel small to us, but they can mean everything to an older loved one.

Tip: Make time this week to simply be present. One day, those ordinary moments may become the memories you treasure most.

Compassion That Goes Beyond the Job 💙

Today we are proud to recognize Amy Salazar, our Social Worker, for the compassion, dedication, and heart she brings to Treasure Hills every day.

Amy does more than support our residents and families. She advocates for those who need a voice, offers comfort during difficult moments, and is always looking for ways to help others.

During Social Worker Week, Amy chose to turn the attention away from herself and toward our service members. With her daughter proudly serving in the armed forces, she encouraged our team to donate essential items for care packages for our troops.

That simple decision says so much about Amy: selfless, thoughtful, compassionate, and always thinking of others.

We are incredibly grateful to have Amy on our team and proud of the example she sets for all of us.
