I know what it's like ot realize that nothing in my closet fit anymore.
I just kept gaining weight. And I couldn't get it off. Not because I didn't know what to eat. Not because I lacked willpower.
But because my body was changing in ways I didn't understand, and every article I read contradicted the last one.
The turning point wasn't a new diet plan. And it certainly wasn't a quick fix or an easy button.
It was finally understanding what was actually happening inside my body during midlife, and why what used to work… doesn't anymore.
Here's what I wish I'd known sooner:
1.Yes, what we eat matters. But...so does stress. If we are constantly stressed out and never truly relaxing...diet alone won't move the needle.
2. The 1,200 calorie plan that worked in your 30s? It's working against you now (and also causing stress). Your body needs actual nourishment to support these changes, not restriction.
3. Sleep isn't a luxury, it's essential. Poor sleep disrupts the hormones that regulate hunger and fullness. And if we aren't sleeping well...that's additional stress on the body.
4. And those crazy, hard HIIT workouts that I used to thrive on when I was younger..yep, you guessed it. Too much stress for our bodies right now to be doing these on the regular.
