Parking at our downtown Harrisonburg location can be a little confusing at first, so we made a guide to help!

All parking around the building is available for SLC clients, families, and employees. Please follow the green arrows for the correct entrance and exit flow, and note that Liberty Street is one way.

We hope to make future parking lot updates, including repainting the lines and replacing the parking blocks, to help improve traffic flow and visibility.

Thanks for your patience as everyone adjusts to the new space! 💚

As OT Month comes to a close, all of us at the SLC are feeling extra grateful for the creativity, care, and impact our OT team brings to every session, every family, every day. There aren’t enough words to express how much we love our OTs and how incredible this team is. They deserve more than just a month. We’re so lucky to have a team that shows up the way they do, and our families are better because of it. Thank you, Aimee, Lauren, Nicole, Zack, and Abby 💚

At The Speech and Language Center, feeding therapy supports children in developing safe, efficient swallowing and becoming more comfortable with new foods. Every session is tailored to the child, whether that means interacting with foods through touch, smell, or taste, or simply learning to tolerate something new on their plate. Small steps at a time can lead to big changes at mealtimes!

“Every child deserves a place to play where they feel safe and included. We’re partnering with The Speech and Language Center to bring a sensory playground to Downtown Harrisonburg-but we need your help to cross the finish line!

We’ve secured a $75,000 Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development grant and are contributing $40,000 in raffle proceeds, but we still have a funding gap. We all know how hot it gets here - will you help us install shade sails?”

We’re so excited to be part of this project with Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance. This sensory playground will mean so much to our families, and we’re getting close. If you’re able to give on April 22, we’d be so grateful.

We had a wonderful time yesterday at the Active for Autism 5K in Alexandria, VA! It was great to come together outside the clinic in support of a cause that means so much to us and the community we serve. Grateful for opportunities like this to connect and make every step count!
