The American School for the Deaf (ASD) and Mystic Aquarium are proud to come together to host Deaf Awareness Day on Sunday, September 13th - a special day of discovery, connection, and celebration honoring the Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and DeafBlind communities.

Guests of all ages are invited to explore the Aquarium through accessible programming, ASL interpretation, and interactive experiences that celebrate Deaf culture and language while bringing people together through the wonders of marine life.

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy:
* Walking ASL Classes throughout the Aquarium
* ASL Story Time for families
* The first-ever California Sea Lion Show with live ASL and video
interpretation
* A live interactive Beluga Count feed connecting guests with
researchers in Alaska
* ASD Student Ambassadors working alongside Mystic Aquarium

Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard-of-Hearing individuals and families

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Claire Hunt, M.A., and I am currently completing my dissertation as a doctoral candidate in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at Gallaudet University under the supervision of Dr. Kathryn Wagner.

My dissertation examines the relationship between early communication experiences and romantic relationships among Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) adults. As part of this research, I am recruiting participants who meet several eligibility criteria, including self-identifying as Deaf or Hard of Hearing, being proficient in American Sign Language (ASL), and having been in a relationship. Additional eligibility requirements are outlined in the attached recruitment flyer.

I am reaching out to ask whether your organization would be willing to support this research by helping share the study with your community. If possible, I would greatly appreciate your assistance by posting the attached recruitment flyer on your website, social media platforms, email listserv, or through any other communication channels you feel are appropriate. Please however do not post it on your individual or personal social media accounts.

The findings from this study will contribute to a better understanding of communication experiences and relationship health within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, with the goal of informing future research and clinical practice.

Participation is entirely voluntary, and all responses are anonymous. Eligible participants who complete the study, which will take approximately 60 minutes, will receive $30 in compensation for their time.
