💜 Gratitude fills every hallway at Serenity Village 💜

As you walk through our home, you'll find rooms dedicated in recognition of some of the generous individuals, families, businesses, foundations, and organizations that helped make Serenity Village possible.

Today we'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jim and Mary Atkinson, Fred and Jeanne Groos, David Coleman, Elisabeth French, Sally Cook, McKeown Kraai CPA, The Women's Giving Circle, The Feldpausch Foundation, JoAnn Mullins, Elizabeth Keller, Thomas and Jennifer DeVault, Stephanie Fekkes, and Tomy Cordova.

For more than a decade, Serenity Village was built through the kindness, support, and belief of our community. Every room, every space, and every opportunity to provide comfort and peace exists because people cared enough to help.

💙 Today in the hospice world, the conversation is about something deeply important — Compassion Fatigue.

Across the country today, hospice professionals are gathering for education on “The Cost of Caring: Recognizing & Recovering from Compassion Fatigue.” And it hits close to home for all of us in this work.

Compassion fatigue is different from everyday burnout. It’s not just being tired from a long week. It’s what happens when you pour your heart into someone else’s pain, grief, and final days — over and over again — and carry it with you long after your shift ends.

Our caregivers at Serenity Village do exactly that. Every. Single. Day.

They sit with our guests in the hard, holy moments. They comfort families walking through the hardest chapter of their lives. They give and give and give — because that’s who they are.

To our team, and to every compassion home and hospice worker out there — we SEE you. We HONOR you. And we take seriously our responsibility to care for YOU the way you care for others. 🙏

You cannot pour from an empty cup. Taking care of our caregivers isn’t optional — it’s essential.

💜 Happy Monday from Serenity Village 💜

As we begin a new week, we want to take a moment to say thank you to our amazing community.

From monetary donations and much-needed supplies to the countless hours given by our volunteers, your generosity continues to remind us that Serenity Village was built by a community that cares. Every contribution, large or small, helps us continue our mission of providing a peaceful, compassionate home for hospice patients and support for their loved ones.

We are also deeply grateful for our hospice partners, whose dedication and collaboration help make the care we provide possible.

Serenity Village would not exist without the support of donors, volunteers, hospice partners, and community members who believe in this mission. Thank you for walking alongside us and helping us bring comfort, dignity, and peace to those who need it most.

Beneath this flag are the freedoms we often take for granted — freedoms paid for by the sacrifice of brave men and women who never made it home. 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, all of us at Serenity Village pause to remember, honor, and give thanks to those who gave their lives in service to our country.

In a home centered around comfort, dignity, and compassion, we are especially reminded how precious life, family, and time together truly are.

Today we honor the fallen, hold close the memories of those we miss, and extend our gratitude to the families who carry that sacrifice every day.
