I had an unusual experience recently while exploring the idea of connecting with another version of myself.

What came through was a woman I eventually began calling She Who Waits.

I still don’t know who she was, or if that even matters. What matters is that her message has stayed with me.

You can read about the experience in the first comments.

I used to think being committed to exercise meant sticking to the plan no matter what.

These days, I am trying something very different.

I am learning to listen to my body, even on the days when it says, “Nope. Not today.”

My newest Substack is about letting go of rigid discipline without giving up on movement, strength, or commitment.

I never thought I would be this happy to sweep a floor or pull weeds.

After months of struggling with mold illness, I am finally getting my strength back. And with it, I have a whole new appreciation for the ordinary things I get to do again.

My latest Substack is about housework, health, gratitude, and becoming a domestic goddess all over again. 😄

Apparently, lying on the couch with my phone in my hand does not count as resting.

Who knew?

I’ve been paying closer attention to how my phone affects my energy, my focus, and my ability to actually relax.

So I’ve been making a few changes and noticing what happens when I give my nervous system a little less noise.

I wrote about it in my new blog post, "Is Your Smartphone Hijacking Your Nervous System?"

This Saturday, August 8, at 9:00 a.m. CST, I will be offering a Lion’s Gate guided meditation over Zoom.

We will work with the energy of courage, alignment, and stepping through an inner threshold. The meditation will include releasing old fears, beliefs, or roles that no longer fit, and listening for what you are ready to embody more fully.

You do not need to know anything about the Lion’s Gate or hold any particular spiritual belief to join us. This is simply an invitation to pause, reconnect with yourself, and take one honest step toward what feels true for you now.

The cost is $15, or you may use your class pass if you have one.

Let me know if you would like to join me, and I will send you the Zoom information.

For years, I told myself I wrote, but I was not a writer. I painted, but I was not an artist.

I finally called bu****it on that.

My latest blog post is about what happened when I stopped waiting for permission and started claiming what I was already doing.

I’m trying a little experiment for the next 30 days: less complaining.

I’m not saying I won’t be honest when I’m tired, disappointed, or frustrated. I just want to notice when I keep going over the same complaint without doing anything about it.

I wrote about the ground rules I am using, including the one that may be hardest for me: no complaining about my body.

Let me know if you would like to join me.
