UPCOMING EVENTS:
From Robin Hogan Kappler
"We are hosting the third annual Hastings/Grand Island Out of the Darkness Walk on 9-12 at Brickyard Park. This is an event to raise funds and awareness for su***de prevention. We honor those who are su***de loss survivors too. We have an amazing silent auction and food trucks! It’s not a day of doom and gloom, but rather a day of support and awareness. Registration starts at 09:30."
INVITATION:
If anyone has information on where purple bulbs can be picked up at communities across Nebraska, please let me know and I will add them to this post.
FROM ASAAP
“Sometimes a simple visual reminder can start an important conversation,” said Kerry-Anne Block, Director of ASAAP. “When people see purple lights throughout the community, we want them to know that mental health matters, su***de prevention matters, and support is available. We would love to see homes and businesses keep their purple lights on throughout the entire month.”
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health or su***de-related crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
