In some cases, patients are moved to the ICU as a precaution so that health care providers can closely monitor their recovery and ensure they receive the support they need.

Rhinitis is defined as inflammation of the nasal passages, which can be triggered by allergens, irritants, infections or underlying health conditions.

“These symptoms may seem mild, but living with persistent nasal congestion can significantly interfere with daily activities,” Dr. Olivier said. “Many patients live with chronic nasal symptoms for years, assuming it’s ‘just allergies’ or something they have to tolerate, when in reality there are a variety of treatment options available.”
