I’ve spent the last few years asking myself one question: “What if healthcare could be better?
Walking away from the traditional healthcare system wasn’t an easy decision. I loved caring for my patients, but I became increasingly frustrated by a system that often prioritized productivity over people. I wanted the freedom to spend more than a few rushed minutes with each patient, to truly listen, build relationships, and provide the kind of care I believe every person deserves.
So, I took a leap of faith.
This fall, I’ll be opening Magnolia Sage Direct Primary Care in Petal—a practice built on a simple belief: healthcare should be personal, accessible, and centered around the patient, not the insurance company.
I’m incredibly honored that a local intern reporter for the Roy Howard Community Journalism Center at USM took the time to learn about this vision and write an article about our journey. It’s surreal to see something that started as an idea become a reality.
To my family, friends, future patients, and everyone who has encouraged me along the way—thank you. Every share, every message, every word of support has reminded me why this leap is worth taking.
If you’ve ever wished your doctor had more time to listen, to answer your questions without rushing, or to truly know you, that’s exactly what we’re building.
I can’t wait to welcome you this fall and show our community that there is another way to experience primary care.
