We are a group of crafty guys and gals who have been stitching and bitching together weekly in the Hub City since 2011. All crafts are welcome - knitting, crochet, paper crafts, basket-weaving, whatever! We aim to be a safe space for all. But we may cuss a little (a lot).

ARTIST PROFILE: Audrey Brust

A Little About the Artist:
Audrey Brust is a biochemistry major at Southern Miss who spends her free time crocheting flowers and spreading joy—one stitch at a time. She’s brought her creations to service projects around Hattiesburg, blending science, creativity, and community in the sweetest way.

🌱 The Question:
If you could crochet with anything found in nature (no yarn allowed)…what would you use and what would you make?

Her Answer:
“I actually have a biochemist answer! Scientists are working on making yarn from algae, and I would LOVE to try it. It’s renewable, a little unexpected, and honestly…kind of looks like noodles. I think it would be really fun to work with!”

What to Expect:
Audrey will be creating crocheted bouquets for Earth Day, with all proceeds going back into the community through Hub City Crafters.

Find her near the giraffes and prepare to fall in love with yarn
