UPDATE
After spending the last two weeks in the capital fighting all of these terrible v**e registry / directory bills, here is why there are so many of them:
1 - C stores and some age restricted businesses (hybrid v**e / to***co / ho**ah / cbd / kratom) shops are selling to kids and flooding the schools w/ them. This includes delta 8, drugs, and synthetic drug products. (one C store received a $6,400 fine from the FDA for multiple violations)
2 - Businesses selling counterfeit disposables and disposables on the FDA Red List (Elfbar, Lost mary, Funky republic, EB Designs)
3 - To***co companies are using #1 above to push all v***r products out since they own the only *23* FDA approved products on the market out of more than 18 million applications submitted to the FDA.
Bottom line: Contact your District House Rep and Senator and tell them to vote NO to SB 2441 and HB 1660 and demand action on businesses who sell to youth.
Over the last several weeks, investigators visited 14 Picayune shops with an undercover and underaged individual who tried to buy v**es or alcohol. Out of the 14 stores targeted, only three refused to sell.
