This is slow grounded pressure.
Not forcing anything.
Just letting the neck and shoulders realize they don’t have to hold so much.

Set up at a local festival last week and got to meet so many new faces!

Some curious…
Some skeptical…
Some ready to hop right on the table.

I always enjoy bringing ashiatsu out into the community like this. It gives people a chance to experience it in a low pressure, approachable way.

It’s fun to see who decides to give it a try!

Slow, sustained pressure. A broad surface area.
Time for the tissue to respond.

And yeah…
It feels good.

The video moves fast.
The work doesn’t.

What you’re seeing is a quick time-lapse of ashiatsu deep tissue back work. In real time, everything slows way down.

Each placement is deliberate.
Pressure builds gradually.
The tissue has time to soften.

Using bodyweight allows me to work across the muscles of the back with broad, steady contact. Many deep tissue clients find this feels supportive rather than pokey.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing different ways I approach the back.

If your back has been asking for attention…
You’ll enjoy this series.

Slow rhythmic work is often exactly what tired, overworked shoulders need.

That steady, predictable rocking gives your system a clear message: you’re safe here.

When the body feels unhurried and supported, it begins to shift out of high alert and into something quieter.

Grounded body weight, paired with slow, intentional movement force creates space without fighting the tissue.

Your shoulders don’t drop because I push them down. They settle because they finally feel safe enough to let go.

Do your shoulders feel like they live somewhere near your ears lately?

If your shoulders have been inching up towards your ears lately…I see you.
Screens. Driving. Stress.
It adds up.

If that sounds familiar, your neck might be ready for some attention.

This work isn’t about forcing anything. It’s slow, steady pressure that gives your neck some space…some time to settle.
Most people don’t realize how much they’ve been bracing until it finally softens.
And when it does…your whole body feels lighter. ✨

This is where shoulders finally drop.

Ashiatsu uses slow steady body weight - not force - to help overworked necks and shoulders soften without being pushed.

Especially helpful if your body spends most days bracing from screens, driving, and stress that never really turns off.

This is barefoot work on the neck and upper shoulders.
Slow. Supported. Very intentional.

It looks unusual to people who haven’t experienced it…
but for the right body, it can feel incredibly grounding.

Using body weight instead of force gives steady, predictable pressure.
That consistency helps the neck feel supported rather than challenged…
which is often what allows it to soften.

If your neck is tired from screens, driving, or just
EVERYTHING…
this kind of work can help it finally let go.
