When Harold and I began this journey, we really didn't know exactly what this first year would bring. What we found was so much more than a little crystal shop. 🕸️ FUN FACT FRIDAY 🕸️

Anyone who knows me knows that I love spiders, especially the beautiful orb spiders we have here in eastern NC!!! I especially love to watch them spin their webs!!! Well have you ever looked at a spiderweb and wondered how something so delicate can survive the wind—or stop a flying insect without completely falling apart?

Spider silk may look fragile, but it is surprisingly strong and stretchy. Some types are even stronger than steel when compared by weight! That stretchiness helps the web absorb the impact of an insect flying into it without immediately breaking.

And here’s something else I didn’t know—spiders can make different kinds of silk for different jobs. Depending on the species, they may use one type to build the web’s strong framework, another sticky type to catch insects, and others to wrap their eggs or create a safety line as they move around.

A spiderweb really is more than a simple net. It is an incredibly thoughtful design made with several specialized materials—all produced by one tiny spider! 🕷️

Our Yooperlite spiderweb carving seemed like the perfect companion for today’s fun fact. I love how the web design becomes even more striking when the Yooperlite glows beneath a UV light—See the orange glow where I am shining the light!!! It feels like two fascinating parts of nature coming together in one little carving! 🕸️✨

The next time you spot a spiderweb, take a moment to look a little closer. What may seem like a few delicate strands is actually one of nature’s most remarkable little masterpieces.

Join us for a beautiful evening of reflection, release, gratitude, and courageous transformation as we gather beneath the energy of the Harvest Full Moon in Aries.

The Harvest Moon invites us to recognize what has already grown, celebrate our progress, gather the lessons we have learned, and consider what we are ready to carry into the next season.

Positioned between imaginative Neptune and practical Saturn, this Full Moon creates a powerful bridge between dreams and reality. Aries brings the courage to begin, while the Libra Sun reminds us to move forward with balance and consideration.

During our evening together, we will explore:

🌾 The meaning and symbolism of the Harvest Full Moon
🔥 The courageous, independent, and action-oriented energy of Aries

Did you know that Reiki is becoming increasingly visible within integrative healthcare? Here in North Carolina, Reiki training is even offered through Duke Health & Well-Being at Duke Integrative Medicine. While Reiki is not a replacement for medical or mental health care, it is a gentle, non-invasive complementary practice.

Research into Reiki is still developing. Studies have reported encouraging findings related to relaxation, stress, anxiety, and perceived pain; but we still need larger, deeper studies to truly map out these results.

What does a Reiki session actually ask of you?

Nothing—except to be present.

You remain fully clothed while resting comfortably on the table. You do not need to concentrate, clear your mind, understand Reiki, or make anything happen. It is simply an intentional pause—a quiet space to rest and be. Clients often tell me how deeply relaxed they feel after their sessions.

I practice Traditional Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho and am a Master Level trained Practioner who has been practicing since 2013. If you are curious, you are always welcome to stop by, meet me, and see my Reiki room. There is never any pressure to book.

It would be an honor to hold that quiet, supportive space for you during a Reiki session.

$7.00 Rabies Clinic is just around the corner! Come get your pets vaccinated for a reduced cost only twice a year! Keep an eye out for an update on participating vets.

Details (Specifically for CPASC):
- Thursday, October 1st from 10:30a-5:30p
- Must be at least 18 or older with valid ID
- 1 year vaccine only
- Cash/Card accepted (No Amex)
- All cats must be in a carrier
- All dogs must be on a leash
