🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July! ❤️🤍💙

Today I’m feeling especially grateful—for my faith, my home, my family and friends, my flowers, and the freedom we enjoy every day.

One of the greatest gifts Chuck gave me wasn’t just his love. As a Vietnam veteran, he taught me to truly appreciate what our flag represents. Through his stories and experiences, he helped me understand that freedom has never been free. Because of him, I don’t just see a flag—I see sacrifice, courage, service, and the countless men and women who have given so much for our country.

As I was looking at my flowers and our flag today, I couldn’t help but think about the word rooted.

The strongest gardens are rooted well.
The strongest trees are rooted deeply.
And I believe the strongest lives are rooted in faith, gratitude, family, and the values that matter most.

That’s the heart behind Rooted with Vickie.

Today I’m remembering Chuck with gratitude, honoring every veteran and active service member, and thanking God for the incredible blessing of living in this country.

Wishing you and your family a safe, joyful, and blessed Fourth of July. God bless America. 🇺🇸❤️

Most people have no idea that fiber BEFORE a meal can completely change how their body responds to food. đź‘€

One simple habit before dinner may help:
✔️ slow food absorption
✔️ reduce glucose spikes
✔️ support metabolic health
✔️ help you stay fuller longer

Small daily habits matter more than perfection. ✨

Comment FIBER if you want to learn what I use and how I take it.

Today I had to fast for my labs with ONLY water…

And honestly?

I forgot how different fasting feels without this little packet in my routine.

It’s wild how much easier my mornings have become.

Comment “FAST” if you want to know what I normally add to my water 💛

Your Cravings May Not Be Lack of Willpower… They May Be Engineered.

Most people still believe overeating is simply about “discipline.”

But what if the real problem is that modern food has been engineered to override your brain’s natural fullness signals?

Research in neuro-metabolic science is showing that ultra-processed foods may create massive dopamine spikes in the brain, followed by aggressive crashes that drive more cravings, hunger, and overeating.

This is not just about calories.
It’s about:
âś” dopamine signaling
âś” blood sugar instability
âś” suppressed satiety hormones
âś” chronic insulin spikes
âś” metabolic dysfunction

When we eat whole, fiber-rich foods, the body responds very differently.
Blood sugar rises more gradually.
GLP-1 and satiety hormones activate naturally.

The brain receives signals of fullness and satisfaction.
But highly processed foods, loaded with refined carbohydrates, industrial oils, artificial flavor chemistry, and hyper-palatable additives, can overstimulate the brain’s reward pathways in ways nature never intended.

The result?
👉 temporary pleasure
👉 rapid crashes
👉 more cravings
👉 increased hunger
👉 repeated insulin spikes

Over time, this constant “crash and crave” cycle may contribute to:
• insulin resistance
• inflammation
• weight gain
• fatigue
• food addiction patterns
• metabolic disease

And honestly, this is where I believe people deserve more transparency.
We live in a world where the food industry profits from creating highly addictive processed foods…while pharmaceutical companies profit from managing the chronic diseases that often follow.

Meanwhile, people blame themselves.
But many people are unknowingly fighting against food designed to bypass normal human biology.

This is why restoring metabolic health is not about starving yourself.
It’s about restoring the body’s natural signaling systems again.

Some of the most powerful things you can do:
âś” prioritize real whole foods
âś” increase fiber intake
âś” stabilize blood sugar
âś” support gut health
âś” improve sleep and stress regulation
âś” reduce ultra-processed foods

Because true metabolic healing happens when the brain and body can finally communicate properly again.

The goal is not restriction.
The goal is metabolic freedom.

Take time to relax and enjoy nature.

Making space to unwind…reduces stress and lowers cortisol levels.

Sugar affects more than weight.

Energy.
Cravings.
Brain fog.
Inflammation.
Mental fatigue.

Small daily choices matter.
And sometimes the smallest changes create the biggest shifts.

If this resonated with you, message me “RESET” and I’ll share what’s helped me support my metabolic health naturally.

TYPE 1 VS TYPE 2 DIABETES — THEY ARE NOT THE SAME DISEASE.

1. One of the biggest misconceptions in health is treating Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes like they are the same condition.

They are not.

Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease where the pancreas can no longer produce insulin. People with Type 1 need insulin to survive.

Type 2 Diabetes is usually very different.
Most people with Type 2 are not lacking insulin in the beginning, they often have TOO MUCH insulin for years. This is called insulin resistance.

The body becomes overwhelmed from years of constant glucose spikes, processed foods, frequent eating, stress, inflammation, and metabolic overload. Over time, the cells stop responding properly to insulin.

The pancreas then pumps out even MORE insulin trying to keep blood sugar controlled.

That’s why so many people with Type 2 also struggle with:
• belly fat
• cravings
• exhaustion
• fatty liver
• high blood pressure
• inflammation
• heart disease

This is why I’m so passionate about helping people understand metabolic health at the ROOT level instead of only chasing blood sugar numbers.

Things like:
✔️ fasting insulin
✔️ meal timing
✔️ fiber
✔️ movement after meals
✔️ lowering glucose spikes
✔️ strategic fasting
can make a massive difference in supporting insulin resistance naturally.

The beautiful thing is this:
In many cases, Type 2 Diabetes can be dramatically improved, and sometimes even reversed, when the root cause is addressed early enough.
Sometimes the problem starts long before blood sugar rises đź’›

If you’re struggling with weight gain, cravings, fatigue, high blood sugar, fatty liver, inflammation, or Type 2 diabetes…don’t just ask how to lower glucose.

Ask WHY your body became insulin resistant in the first place.

Message me “METABOLIC” and I’ll share the natural strategies and tools I personally use to support insulin resistance, blood sugar balance, fasting, and metabolic health at the root cause 💛
