This year the Gail Parkins Memorial Ovarian Cancer Walk & 5K Run will take place Saturday, September 13th in Raleigh! Please mark your calendars and join me on this very special day. One day my mom had asked me "Are you still going to go run even when I'm no longer here" and I smiled and replied "Of course I will, but don't worry you'll be there!" Sadly she won't be there physically but in spirit she most definitely will. This event holds a special place in my heart for many reasons- It was my first 5K and the reason I started running, it was my first event to support & help advocate for ovarian cancer in honor of my mom, and it was the only run my mom and I shared together! If any of you could join me that would be great...more details to come.
