Mishel Mom on a mission to help other women feel like themselves again after having children.

I want to say a lot but my heart is too sad and too heavy. Thank you to everyone who celebrated Liam’s birthday with us and around the world. Thank you to everyone who donated. Please consider donating.

This is a grassroots effort to make meaningful and lasting change. This mission will save lives.

Liam’s crash should not have happened. He was just going on a walk with his aunt. They were picking up lunch when the unthinkable became reality.

It’s unfathomable until it happens. But all drunk driving crashes are preventable.

With this specific fundraiser we are looking to do 3 things:

1. Impact and educate 1000 students about impaired driving. They are a major risk group.

2. Launch a pledge campaign.

3. Continue to grow the Liam’s Life coalition for legislative change. Changing the legal BAC from .08 to .05 would save over 2000 per year. That’s 2000 families who wouldn’t senselessly and needlessly get their families torn, shredded, destroyed. The ripple effect of these lives goes even further.

Please consider donating if you can. We have big plans for the upcoming year and we need your help. We cannot do this alone. We need you.

just as I was feeling tired and sad from the saddest birthday preparation for Liam who would have turned 11 on 5/25 but is not here because of a drunk driver … I see this. REMINDER: don’t drink and drive.

"There’s a million ways I show up for my children every day.

There’s a million ways I can show them I love them. I cannot do that for Liam.

This is one of the thousands of heartbreaks you feel in losing a child.

Because you don’t lose them once. You lose them every day."

Happy Mothers Day to all the moms.

It’s a complicated day for me because I’m simultaneously so grateful and filled with so much joy and love and yet left feeling empty. There’s such a massive part of our family missing.

Today was truly beautiful and still I missed Liam in the in between spaces, in the quiet moments, on the walk, while crafting with the kids, on my run…

On my run today I thought of a tiny hummingbird that’s been coming around the gym and I thought, “That’s not my sign for Liam…. Liam send me a sign. Let me feel you.” And as soon as I finished thinking the thought I say the frog and the angel.

I’ve run past these houses hundreds of times and haven’t ever seen this until today. It literally took my breath away and I spent the rest of my run in tears.

And I’m grateful for this sign. It felt so…. Complex…. And still… it’s not enough. I miss you puppy.

Ultimate hacks for Easter Egg hunts:

1. Use coupons… your kids and mine don’t need more stuff but it’s fun to look for eggs and to crack them open. I started doing coupons in the eggs last year for things they would love and want. Things include but are not limited to: chasing the ice cream truck for ice cream, 1-5 minutes of extra screen time with a maximum of 10 extra minutes allowed per day so they can’t binge, 5 extra minutes of reading together, pizza party, they choose the movie, getting boba, playing their favorite games, they choose dinner, going to the movies, a candy on a day outside of Saturday, and more.

For extra giggles I threw in some push ups, squats and burpees into the coupons.

Nothing fancy - I literally hand write them and then tear the paper.

They are responsible for keeping the coupons to redeem them. If they lose it - they can’t redeem it.

2. I reused some of their old tiny nick knacks. Gems, animals, rings… things that they haven’t play with in forever but repurposed they’ll get some love out of it.

3. I save goodie bag stuff they get from birthday parties and used them here.

4. A little bit of candy but not prepackaged - I open the package and portion out the candy I want them to have. (I washed the eggs before)

5. Pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters which I’ll make them add and divide between the two

6. 2 higher value items

7. Reuse unused gift cards from birthdays and coupon those out.

8. Some prepackaged eggs… but I don’t love those. Although it makes it more convenient - all the junk and plastic make me feel bad which is why I love repurposing already existing but forgotten toys.

You are many things to many people, but to us you’re our best pappa and husband and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Thank you for everything you do. Your heart is so incredible.

I was going to crack a joke but now I’m in my feels because it’s your birthday and I love you and what a journey it is to share this life with you.

Happy birthday my love!

I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve been looked at like a crazy person.

I knew teaching kids the skills for technology would pay off!
