Coach EJ Blake Needs a Kidney

07/31/2026

Not even a year has passed and Ej has already celebrated his 4 month kidney-versary 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

03/21/2026

Yesterday brought an incredible blessing for EJ and for everyone who has been walking beside him on this journey. He received a kidney transplant, and we are beyond grateful for this gift of life and the kindness that made it possible.

The road to transplant has been long, filled with hope, waiting, prayers, and the unwavering support of so many people who love him. Yesterday marked a huge step forward, and our hearts are full of gratitude for the medical team, the donor and their family, and every single person who has lifted EJ up along the way.

Now the focus shifts to healing. The next days and weeks will be important for his recovery, so we ask that you continue to keep EJ in your thoughts and prayers as his body rests, heals, and adjusts to this new chapter.

We are so thankful for the love, encouragement, and support from this community. Please keep those prayers coming. 💚

On this National Donor Day, which is also Valentine's Day, Transplant Life Foundation is celebrating the ultimate act of love: Donation.💓

While the world often focuses on romantic relationships today, we are choosing to honor love in all its beautiful and diverse forms. We see love in the fierce devotion of a parent, the unwavering support of a best friend, and the incredible, selfless bond between a donor and a recipient.

Donation is a testament to the fact that love knows no boundaries and requires no introduction. Whether it is the gift of organ, eye, tissue, blood, or bone marrow, these acts represent a profound commitment to our shared humanity. Today, we celebrate the relationships that sustain us and the donors who make a future possible for so many families.

We invite you to join us in recognizing that the most significant way to share your heart is to give the gift of life to another. 💞

This morning came with breakfast pizza… and a side of love. 🍩❤️

A huge shout out to Dough Haus for surprising EJ with donuts delivered alongside his breakfast. It was such a simple gesture, but it meant so much. This is exactly why we support small, local businesses in our communities. They do not just serve food, they serve heart.

Moments like this remind us that EJ is surrounded by so much goodness as he continues his journey in search of a living kidney donor.

If you have ever considered learning more about what it means to be a living donor, or if you are simply curious about the process, please reach out. There is no pressure, just information. One conversation could change a life. 💚

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up for Ej in big and small ways. The village is strong

The holidays are a season of giving, hope, and believing in miracles. This time of year reminds us that some of the most meaningful gifts cannot be wrapped or placed under a tree.

Becoming an organ donor, especially a living donor, is one of the most selfless acts of generosity. It is a gift of life, health, and time, not just for one person, but for entire families and communities who are forever changed by that kindness.

As we celebrate the season, we ask for continued sharing of EJ’s story. Sharing this page, starting conversations about organ donation, and spreading awareness are powerful ways to help keep hope alive.

From our hearts to yours, we wish you a holiday season filled with blessings, love, good health, and gratitude. Thank you for supporting EJ and for embracing the true spirit of giving. 💚🎄✨

🧡 A Small Act, A Huge Impact 🧡

I took the first step and got tested to see if I could be a living donor for EJ — a brave soul who’s in need of a kidney and a second chance at life.

It only takes a little time to get tested, but it could mean everything to someone waiting for hope. If you’ve ever thought about being a living donor, I encourage you to learn more. You might be the miracle someone like EJ is waiting for. 🙏💚

Let’s spread awareness, save lives, and show what compassion in action really looks like.
