The Claiborne Memorial Medical Center & Willis-Knighton Health Rural Family Medicine Residency Program is proud to welcome our newest first-year residents, Dr. Edgar Diaz and Dr. Carmen Linares.

Their passion for patient care, dedication to family medicine, and commitment to serving rural communities make them outstanding additions to our program. Over the next three years, we look forward to watching them grow as physicians, leaders, and advocates for the patients and communities they will serve.

Dr. Diaz and Dr. Linares join us in July. Please help us in welcoming them to Claiborne Parish and to our Rural Family Medicine Residency family!

It was GOAT Day and it did not disappoint!

A big thank you to Rachel Bays for starting our morning off right with donuts for our staff. Thank you to GBT - Gibsland Bank & Trust for cooking a delicious hamburger lunch for everyone. Many of us also had a great time playing games this afternoon. To top it all off, thank you to Passages Hospice for providing a wonderful trail mix bar for an afternoon snack!

Congratulations to Brandi Monk from the Pharmacy for finding the treasure and winning a $200 Visa gift card generously donated by Phillip and Tammi Verdin.

We are having an awesome week and appreciate everyone who is helping make Hospital Week so special!

Yesterday was full of treats! Courtney from GCU stopped by to give employees a chance to further their education — thank you for investing in our team’s future!

A big thank you to Onyx Health for the popcorn, and to our very own employee, Natasha for making fresh cotton candy for everyone to enjoy.

We also want to give a special thank you to Ben Abshire for providing fish for our night shift crew — we appreciate you thinking of our overnight team!

Today the celebration kept rolling with Pafford cooking up delicious jambalaya, and sno-cones provided by Claiborne Rehab / The Heritage Nursing Home, served by Morris Shelton! Thank you for keeping us cool!

We love celebrating our amazing team all week long!
