8 years ago tonight I had my successful homebirth VBAC with Juniper. 💖✨

Going through the birth portal unmedicated was truly a trip! It was beautiful, intense, challenging, and deeply transformative. It showed me how incredibly wise our bodies are and how much they already carry within them.

Of course, there are times medical support is needed, and I’m grateful for that. But after having an unplanned medicated birth ending in a Cesarean with my first baby, I realized how disconnected I had been from trusting my own body.

If I knew then what I know now, I would’ve trusted myself more deeply from the beginning.

What I’ve also learned is that birth is not just physical. So much of our fear, tension, conditioning, and trauma lives in the body and that impacts how we move through birth.

Since then, I’ve done deep somatic healing and deconditioning work, and it’s now the work I support other mamas through inside Reclaim Birth: A 12-week Somatic & Creative Journey Into A Powerful, Supported Birth.

Together we work through the fears, anxiety, conditioning, and disconnection that keep us stuck in our heads and help bring us back into trust with our bodies and the birth portal.

Join us for an evening of rage painting, connection, and release under the open sky. This is a space for women to let go of perfection and express what’s been held inside while being seen and supported by other women.

As women, we are often taught to hold everything together and stay quiet about our anger. But there is something healing about safely releasing feminine rage in community and allowing ourselves to be witnessed in our realness and imperfection.

Through paint, music, movement, and connection we’ll create space to let go of what no longer serves us and reconnect with ourselves and each other.

✨ Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or stained

I thought I needed a different partner. What I really needed was self-love. 🥰

For a long time, I thought that my life would be so much better if I just had the perfect man. I dreamed of my knight in shining armor who would come make my life joyful and easy.

I even went as far as to villify my children’s father and I perpetuated the cycle of abuse we were trapped in. I was convinced he was a horrible person and didn’t deserve me. I then left him in hopes that one day I would finally find my prince.

Through the journey of remarriage and the painful realization that life isn’t actually better with the new challenges of blending families & coparenting someone else’s kids, I finally had an aha moment. I discovered I had a pattern of always looking outside myself for validation because I didn’t fully love myself.

What I didn’t realize before is that true love can ONLY come from within. No one can give that to you and the more you believe that they can, the more miserable you’ll be.

I’m thankful for all the self work I’ve done, especially this past year and can finally say that I love myself for the first time ever, that I can remember at least!

It feels so amazing and I only hope that I can teach my daughters the same so they don’t have to go through all the devastating heartbreak and toxic relationship patterns like I did.

Sadly, I lost out on one of the best gifts that I could have given my daughters which was to stay married to their dad. Had I only known how to love myself then I could’ve given them that gift. All I can do now is the best I can do in my current relationship, but ladies, the grief runs deep many days. I don’t wish this on anyone. (Continued in comments 👇)
