Exciting news and a call for clinical trial volunteers!
Stanford researchers have developed an investigational drug called HB-2121, designed to detect celiac disease without requiring gluten consumption. In the long run, it may also become an important tool for monitoring disease and evaluating new treatments.
I'm co-hosting a live webinar with Stanford physician scientists Nielsen Fernandez-Becker, MD, PhD, and Nasim Khavari, MD, MPH, about the new study on Monday, September 29, at 9am PDT.
If you are interested but not sure you can make it, register and you’ll receive the recording afterward.
The study is looking for volunteers (both people with celiac disease and healthy individuals without the condition) and includes $400 compensation. The study requires in-person clinic visits to Stanford and will offer hotel accommodations for the night before and after dosing for out-of-area participants.
This is the first human trial for this drug agent. I'm looking forward to seeing where this exciting research leads.
