We moved to the beautiful UT for the snow because we both love skiing and had taught in New Hampshire for 6 seasons. I was working as a senior technology engineer at the time. However, my department was cut and I was laid off. I taught skiing at PCMR in winter. There were a few things happened during this time. My husband was a diabetic for many years. It got to a point his A1C was 8 with a couple
of medication, plus he was taking high blood pressure drugs and statin drug for his high Cholesterol. Right before Covid, he found he had cancer. I had chronic back pain. In battling with these health conditions, I started to learn how to be healthy. I listened to many podcasts to understand health and nutrition. There are so many controversies that I had to sort them out and analyze them to decide which ones could help us. Then I started to implement what I learned. I helped my husband to get off the statin and blood pressure medication. His A1C went down to 6.3 with only 6 units of insulin daily and half dose of metformin he used to take. We both lost weight without considering it's part of our goal. Sometimes we talked to our friends and family members about these improvement. I had to repeat myself a lot. I suddenly thought why not record my progress and share with people who may be benefit from my experience. Plus it'll help myself to remember. I want to only record my true experiences whether they turned out to be good or not. When I listened to podcasts, I always wonder whether what I heard is true or not. I want to find real people who had personal experience to help me make decisions. So I think publishing my own experiences will help others too. I hope what I'm trying to do will benefit others. Please keep in mind everyone is different and I'm not forcing you to choose my way of living or agree my opinions. You may respectfully disagree. Feel free to put your comment, but be respectful.
