🌾 Healthy Soil Is Alive

A garden doesn't begin with the plant.
It begins with the soil.
Healthy soil contains an incredible community of microorganisms, fungi and tiny creatures that participate in decomposition and nutrient cycling.

Adding compost, minimizing unnecessary disturbance and keeping soil covered with plants or mulch can all be part of caring for the world beneath your garden.

🌱 Feed the soil and you're building the foundation for everything that grows above it.

🍄 Mushrooms Are Nature's Recyclers
Here's something amazing happening beneath your feet:
Many fungi help break down dead organic material, returning nutrients to the ecosystem.

And the mushroom you see above ground? That's only the fruiting body. Much of the fungus exists as a network of thread-like structures called mycelium.

🍄 There's a whole world beneath the forest floor.
