Tonight, I remember.
I remember exactly where I was when the towers were struck. I watched the events unfold live, and I watched in disbelief as the towers fell. It is a moment that has never left me.
Many people today were too young to remember September 11, 2001, and some were not yet born—but for those of us who witnessed it, the heartbreak, fear, courage, and unity of that day remain deeply etched in our hearts.
We remember every innocent life lost. We honor the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, first responders, service members, medical professionals, volunteers, and everyday citizens who ran toward danger to help others. We also remember those who survived but carried the physical and emotional effects for years afterward, as well as the families whose lives were forever changed.
To every hero who served, sacrificed, rescued, comforted, and gave everything: you are remembered. You are honored. You are loved.
